The Bothy is entered through a conservatory well stocked with flowers. The ground floor room is the main living area consisting of a kitchen area with full size cooker, fridge,and microwave, comfortable sofa and chair, folding table and chairs, free-sat T.V.and DVD, and stairway to upper floor. The upper floor has one small double bedroom equipped with a 4ft double bed. The bathroom contains a bath and shower combined, handbasin and toilet. The cottage is fully carpeted and heated by electricity, which is included in the tariff. Bed linen and house towels are provided.

The accommodation is ideal for couples, for walkers, and those that like the countryside. We have sightings of red squirrels, badgers, foxes, buzzards etc.

The cottage is available for short breaks from three days with flexible staring dates, high summer we book saturday to Saterday.

The Bothy was the ostler's home for a larger Georgian estate which was divided up in the 50's. We are part of the coach house, stables, and gardener's cottage complex. One enters the property from Sandrock Road between large stone pillars (our gates are situated on the left just before the fork in the road). The driveway leads into the courtyard and holiday cottages. There is secure parking in the cobbled yard. The garden is approximately a third of an acre and has lovely views of both country and sea. We are situated in a very convenient position to get to many sights of interest, for example, Ventnor Botanical Gardens, Blackgang Chine and numerous wonderful walks.

We have a variety of garden furniture for the use of guests and a portable Bar-B-Q. Dry storage is available for bikes . There are good local places to eat, and visit.

The Isle of Wight region

The Island is a very beautiful place to visit and live, with lots of activities to do, places to see, views to look at, seaside and country walks, towns and villages to fit every requirement. We are situated in the Niton Undercliff which has its own micro climate with lush vegetation and the lovely Ventnor Botanical Gardens. A very historic Island, from pre-Roman to Victorian times and on, there is much to see and do, from grand houses to Roman villas, castles to modern day activities.

Ventnor

Ventnor is a beautiful Victorian Town and seafront with a safe sandy beach nestling at the foot of St.Boniface Down. The town has a variety of restaurants and eating places to suit all tastes, and there is a gorgeous walk on the flat beside the sea from Ventnor to Monks Bay, Bonchurch. The Undercliff is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. There are many footpaths for exploring this area that include St.Catherine's Lighthouse and Castle Haven Bay with its many local fishing boats. For a refreshing rest the Buddle Inn is ideal for a drink or a meal. Local activities include walking, swimming, para-gliding, fossil hunting and many more. Blackgang Chine with its popular theme park is only approx. one and a half miles away.

"Spotless, comfortable and pretty cottage."

We stayed for a week at 'The Bothy' and really wished it was for longer. The owners are so welcoming- nothing was too much trouble. The cottage was spotlessly clean, kitchen had everything you would need, a full sized cooker and fridge. The cottage comes with a private mini conservatory- perfect for meals at the bistro table. We had use of the beautiful garden also- garden furniture provided. The area was so quiet and with gorgeous views. Within walking distance of a decent pub- which did decent evening meals.
The only minor thing was the bathroom roof has a slope- my 6'3" husband had to bend his head in the shower! The shower itself is very hot, and a bit tricky to adjust until you get hang of it. But a small price to pay for a lovely place. Definitely recommend and we will be returning.

"Well appointed, comfortable cottage, ideal for two people"

Very friendly owners always ready to listen to you. Lovely little cottage – ideal for 2 persons – everything you need is there. Pretty, spacious garden with plenty of room for visitors to wander or just soak up the sun. Plenty of things to do on the island for adults and children – the best thing is that nothing is too far away. All in all, a great place for a holiday in a nice quiet location.
