"Came highly recommended but was even better than expected"
Fabulous cottage with everything you could possible want or need. Children especially well catered for with loads of games and toys both inside and out. (Even the dogs had bowls and leads and ball games). If you are keen on cooking the kitchen is very well equipped and there are two BBQs for the avid outdoorsy guests. We felt as though we were staying at a friend's cottage who had just gone away for a few days, it really felt like home from home. The garden was also a delight and very secluded and the walks both above and below the cottage were just minutes away. The badgers came for their supper every evening at 9pm without fail. We were enthralled to see them.... such noisy feeders! We spent 5 nights at Camellia Cottage with our handicapped son and it was one of his best holidays yet. It was hard to say goodbye and head home. Thank you for everything.

As I said in the title this place is perfect. John and Louise have thought of everything and there really isn't anything you need for your stay (well maybe sellotape :-) ) Staying here is a holiday in itself even without all the great places to visit on the island. The natural wildlife is really cool and the badger feed became an important part of the evening. Thank you John for helping get my car fixed and being so understanding. If you are going to stay at Camellia Cottage then please don't get there before 3pm as requested because they guys have some much to so in so little time. Lovely couple and we hope to see you again next year. Thanks for everything

"Absolutely just perfect"
Camellia Cottage was spotless and everything you would need for a holiday and much more. We just couldn't fault it. House just amazingly wonderful. Garden enchanting, peaceful with BBQ, swings, and badgers! The owners have thought of everything, football table, games, puzzles, books, DVD's, Xbox for whatever the weather. Personal touches, strawberries and cream, wine, chocolates and gift toiletries on arrival!! Great old pub with fab food just around the corner and lovely walks. Our son was married next door at the Enchanted Manor and often visitors came to visit. There was plenty of room to entertain. We have already booked to go back. Can't wait....

"Camelia Cottage Revisted."
I stayed at Camelia Cottage with my partner and young son in 2010 and was delighted with the accommodation and location. This Easter we revisited with the incusion of my adult son, daughter and her finance. The magic of the garden inspired a competitive Easter egg hunt. A lovely warm and wecoming holiday cottage inspired by thoughtful and considerate owners who have taken great care to ensure come rain or shine you will really enjoy your stay. We really enjoyed Carisbrook Castle this visit.

"A bit of all Wight"
We stayed at Camellia Cottage for a week and loved every minute of it.
The accommodation itself is fantastic. It's much roomier than it appears in the pictures. There's no need to pack any toys as the place is crammed with every conceivable thing you could wish for to keep the kids entertained - all the way from building blocks to an XBox.
The kitchen is also extremely well-kitted out with every utensil imaginable and we really enjoyed cooking on the Aga.
The huge garden is beautiful and peaceful and, as the gate can be locked, it gives the kids the freedom to explore its many nooks and crannies and enjoy the trampoline, swings and slide.
But the best thing about the cottage is the badgers. Stick some bread and jam out and, regular as clockwork, they'll troop out at about 9pm and spend ages snuffling around inches from the patio doors.
The location is perfect too. A 10 minute drive from Blackgang Chine - which my kids loved as much as I did when I was their age - and round the corner from a fantastic pub that does great food, puts on music in the garden and has sea views.
The owner John couldn't have been more helpful and welcoming - even taking a last minute dash to the ferry port at Cowes to give me my iPhone after I left it at the cottage when we left.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Camellia Cottage to anyone and we'll definitely be back soon.

"The perfect cottage in the perfect location"
John & Louise have thought of everything. Fabulous Christmas at the cottage with beautiful festive decorations. Children loved the xbox, dogs loved the garden and I loved the Aga. The cottage has everything you need and it's great to see the red squirrels in the garden. Fantastic location for dog walking and the right side of the Island for everything. Already booked to return (with hopefully better weather!!)
