About this location
The Isle of Wight region
The Isle of Wight is a county and the largest island of England, located in the English Channel, on average about 2–4 miles (3–6 km) off the south coast of the county of Hampshire, separated from the mainland by a strait called the Solent. The Island has many resorts which have been holiday destinations since Victorian times.
The Island has a rich history, including a brief status as an independent kingdom in the 15th century. Until 1995, like Jersey and Guernsey, the Island had its own Governor—most notably Lord Mountbatten from 1969–1974, after which he became Lord Lieutenant until his assassination in 1979.
It was home to the poet Alfred Lord Tennyson, and to Queen Victoria, who built her much-loved summer residence and final home Osborne House at East Cowes. The Island's maritime and industrial history encompasses boat building, sail making, the manufacture of flying boats, the world's first hovercraft and the testing and development of Britain's space rockets. It is home to the Isle of Wight International Jazz Festival, Bestival and the recently-revived Isle of Wight Festival, which, in 1970, was the largest rock music event ever held. The Island has some exceptional wildlife and is one of the richest locations of dinosaur fossils in Europe.
Ventnor is a seaside resort and civil parish established in the Victorian era on the south coast of the Isle of Wight, England. It lies underneath St Boniface Down (which, at 240 metres (787 feet), is the highest point on the Isle of Wight), and is built on steep slopes and cliffs leading down to the sea. The higher part is referred to as Upper Ventnor (although officially it is Lowtherville); the lower part, where most of the amenities are located, being known as Ventnor. Ventnor is sometimes understood as including the coastal villages of St. Lawrence to one side and Bonchurch to the other.
The sheltered location on the cliff of the Island's south coast means the area experiences a microclimate with more sunny days than much of the British Isles, and fewer frosts. This has allowed many species of subtropical plant to be successfully planted and maintained. Ventnor Botanic Garden is particularly notable.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Marine House Studio. It was very well equipped and we loved sitting out on the little terrace watching the world go by!
Ventnor itself was ideal for us, lovely choice of pubs/places to eat and right on the coastal path - which as we love walking we didn't even use our car for four days - we just walked to different places then got the bus back!!
there is so much to see on the Isle of Wight that we would love to come back and will definitely stay again at the Royal Marine Studio!!

"Our stay in the studio at the royal marine house."
A fantastic well equipped place to stay. On entering we were pleased to see such a fantastic space, we felt at home straight away. It was clean and tidy and even smelt fresh. The view from the balcony was outstanding and we felt privileged to take in the view. The Studio was well equipped, and tastefully set out.

"Seafood for the soul"
This is a wonderful apartment, suitable for one person or a couple. It has unrivalled views of the sea and is beautifully appointed - everything to ensure guests' comfort and enjoyment has been provided by the thoughtful owners.
Relax in the comfortable lounge, sleep soundly in the very relaxing bedroom or cook up a storm in the well-equipped kitchen - there's nothing here to disappoint.
The sea views are amazing - spend your time sitting on the lovely little balcony admiring the passing parade and the changing weather. You'll wish you could stay at Royal Marine House studio forever.

The apartment, although billed as a studio, is spacious, clean and modern with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The booking procedure could not have been any simpler.
The directions were excellent we were soon parked and unpacked ready to explore. The
apartment is ideally situated just above a lovely bay, with amazing views of the sea and literally two mins to the beach. I would recommend the apartment to anyone wanting to
get away from it all but have all the amenities close at hand.

"Perfect for what we required"
The Studio apartment is well designed and perfect for our 2 night stay. It was easy to find and very close to the seafront and town. Although we had poor weather we still managed to enjoy the balcony which gives an excellent view across Ventnor Harbour and to the cruise liners further out. We would definitely stay here again.

"The perfect place for a relaxing holiday!"
I rented this lovely studio apartment for a relaxing mini-break and got more than I bargained for The apartment is cosy, tastily decorated, with all the necessary amenities and the added value of amazing sea views.
Ventnor high street and beach are within 5 minute walk and there are some fantastic walks to do in the area with a large choice of public footpaths. The tourist leaflets available at the house were most helpful when planning visits!
If like me you haven't got a car, the local bus service is very efficient and the closest bus stop again less than 5 minute walk away from the house.
The owner was very helpful throughout the booking process and very sweetly left a bottle of red wine for me to find on arrival.
I loved it so much that I didn't want to leave and am planning to go back there as soon as possible! Highly recommended apartment!
