A beautiful stone cottage, strolling distance of the beach, restaurants and shops. Available all year round for either a fantastic Summer holiday or Winter Break. Ideal for couples and families. We offer short stays and weekend breaks.

The Cottage has been renovated providing crisp white walls, stripped wood flooring, cottage kitchen. Most of the furniture is modern with the exception of a few pieces which have been bought from antique shops giving the cottage a comfortable modern, yet shabby chic style.

All the rooms are spacious even if you use the roll out bed in the second bedroom.

Small enclosed decked courtyard with garden furniture and a good size shed/store where you can store your beach stuff and bicycles.

There is street parking, subject to availability and a free car park in Wheelers Bay Car Park just around the corner from the cottage.

The Ventnor / St Lawrence, Ventnor area

This quaint Victorian seaside resort is located at the southern end of the island and accessed via an array of steep winding roads set amidst truly stunning scenery. Sheltered by St. Boniface Down- one of the island's highest points and an 'area of outstanding natural beauty', this charming town has a uniquely mild climate which suprisingly enables tropical and exotic plants to grow throughout the area.

The sandy and fine shingle beaches provide excellent facilities for watersports and offer a range of stunning coastal paths to explore. The harbour sells a broad range of fresh fish and seafood in various outliets. A wide variety of shops, pubs and restaurants line the esplanade- while the Botanical Gardens are within easy reach and well worth a visit.

With plenty to see and do around the island for all the family- including great walking and cycling opportunities, medieval castles, historic houses and a variety of gardens and waterfalls, this great holiday destination has plenty to offer at any time of year!

Travel to the Isle of Wight by Ferry.

You have a choice of three mainland ferry ports: Southampton (Red Ferries), Portsmouth and Lymington
(Wight Ferries).

Portsmouth to the port of Fishbourne..

From Fishbourne, travel east on the A3054 through the town of Ryde and then travel south on the A3055.
This will take you past the towns of Brading, Sandown and Shanklin. You will then arrive in the town of Ventnor.

Southampton to the port of Cowes..

From Cowes, travel south on the A3020 through the town of Newport. You will pass the towns of Blackwater and Godshill before travelling south via the B3327 (near Whiteley Bank) arriving in Ventnor soon afterwards.

Lymington to the port of Yarmouth..

From Yarmouth, travel west on the A3055 past Totland (where the road turns east), Freshwater, Chale and Niton and then you will arrive in Ventnor.

“Excellent marine-themed modern semi-detached getaway” Excellent house for a week break getaway with family. We went with 3 young children & found the marine-themed decor uncluttered & modern. The children loved it, & appreciated the pirate storybooks in their bedroom. Location isn't a worry in the Isle of Wight, as everything is close by, but the waterfront is a few minutes' walk away. Another standout point was the owners' organisation, from the very detailed pre-arrival e-mail to the speedy refund of security deposit. We would thoroughly recommend Corky's Cottage

“Excellent for a getaway with the kids” An ideal location close to ventnor. Beautiful cottage with high quality extras. Very child friendly- my 4 year old twins loved the pirate activity welcome pack. Lesley was so helpful with our very last minute booking. Will definitely stay again!

“Charming Cottage” Corky's cottage is a lovely place to stay, it's close to all the amenities and easy walking distance to the beach. The cottage is well equipped, bright and cheerful, it also has very friendly neighbours, I would recommend this cottage and also go back and stay again which is the biggest compliment I could give. “Corkys provides all the facilities you need to enjoy your holiday” Good location and within a 5-10 minutes walk from the town centre and esplanade. Food shops are within a few minutes walk. Easy access to the coastal walking path and frequent buses provide an easy return! Lots of places to eat in Ventnor but we spent most evenings dining in after a full days walking/sightseeing.

“Great house, great location, we had a great time!” This is our 2nd stay at Corky's cottage and we have now booked for next year. It is in a great location in Ventnor, easy to walk to the beach and back with young children and into town for some shopping. The house is very well equipped and comfortable with everything you need for your holiday. It really is a great holiday home and that is why we keep going back - nowhere else measures up!

“Lovely house, perfect for our toddler” We had a lovely stay at Corky's Cottage which was spotless and very homely with very comfortable beds. Everything we needed was there and it was perfect for our 18 month old to explore safely. The cottage is in a brilliant location, a lovely 10 minute walk to town. “Beautiful cottage with excellent amenities” We've stayed at Corky's Cottage over two successive summers and love its cosiness, superb facilities and lush furnishing. The lounge is large, light and well-stocked with games, DVDs and Sky TV. The dining room makes a good second space with lounge and family-sized table while the kitchen boasts everything you could possibly need for a week's stay. Rooms upstairs were well-presented and the beds were extremely comfortable. The en-suite was a real delight although we tended to use the shower downstairs. Ventnor has a decent beach, good shops and plenty of recommended pubs/restaurants. The cottage is a short walk into town, pleasant enough to make each morning with a pushchair. One of the few downsides of the location is the scarcity of street parking. There is a large car park 3 mins away although it does involve negotiating steps or a steep-ish slope. There isn't much in way of a garden but plenty of space for a BBQ or hanging wet swimsuits. That said, after long days in Steeplehill Cove, we were happy to flop on the sofas. However one of the greatest pleasures of Corky's Cottage is the friendliness and professionalism of its owners. Nothing's too much trouble - they always did their utmost to help us and made every effort to ensure our happiness. Highly recommended. Response: Wow! Thank you Paul lovely comments.

“Excellent accommodation” Very comfortable with great attention to detail. Everything you could need for kids of all ages - games, DVDs, Sky tv, WiFi, and nice big bedrooms and bathroom. Walking distance to shops, the seafront (down steps or a steep hill), restaurants and in a beautiful part of the Island.

“Corky's cottage calm, cosy, contemporary!” We have returned relaxed and happy after spending a week at Corky's cottage. It is well decorated, pretty, functional but with those little extras that make the holiday relaxing: dish washer and cafetiere! There is plenty of good, comfortable seating and a large dining table. It is located in a quiet street within walking distance of the beach and a number of good restaurants.

“Lovely cottage, great location.” We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in Ventnor and Corky's was very comfortable, living up to the website description and more. The little extras that made it feel like home shows that the owners really care for their guests. The walk into 'town' took 8 minutes (or a little longer when we took the scenic route along the seafront). El Toro and Phileas Fogg were good value 'casual dining' restaurants and Lesley's recommendation for the Ale & Oyster was 'spot-on', probably the best fillet steak I've ever tasted. Sitting at a window table with the sound of 'cicadas' and waves on the beach made it seem like Menorca or the Greek Islands but without the hassle of travelling for hours! “A lovely cottage in a lovely part of the Island” Corky's is a lovely cottage - deceptively spacious and tastefully decorated. Having a young child we were not able to take advantage of any nightlife, so it was important for us to be comfortable and cosy in the evenings. The Sky+ TV helped keep us entertained together with a huge DVD collection and a couple of good takeaways - that deliver. Comfy beds ensured we were well rested and ready for the next day's Island adventure. We would definately go back to the Island and to Corky's.

“Wonderful stay - cosy, clean and well equipped” We enjoyed our stay in Corkys Cotttage very much. For us Germans it was a typical British house with a very cosy atmosphere. The weather wasn't too nice during our stay but we liked it very much to come back in this house after a rain walk outside. We cooked a lot in the well equipped kitchen and enjoyed the nice living room (especially our children liked the DVD collection). Everything was very clean and lovely. “Best Isle of Wight Holiday at Corky's Cottage” A lovely house in a geat location. All the finishing touches have been thought about by the owner - even simples things like milk and a welcome basket make such a difference AND it was spotless! The 2nd bedroom is great for the kiddies - a stair gate on the door, travel cot and night lights available with a lovely seaside theme. The main bedroom is also lovely with a HUGE comfy bed. Downstairs the accomodation is perfect and the owners have again really thought about the decoration. We always found a parking space outside and the neighbours were all very friendly. Ventnor is a lovely place to stay on the Island and Corky's Cottage is the perfect holiday home. Can't wait to go back!

“A cozy cottage for a family holiday.” Corky's cottage is a perfect holiday cottage! Even though we live in the States, arranging the rental was quite easy, it was all done over the internet without a hitch. The cottage was beautifully decorated, had very modern appliances and spacious bedrooms. The kitchen had everything you could need for preparing meals. The coastal town of Ventnor was a great location to explore the Isle of Wight from. The cottage was easy walking distance to the center of town and the bus stop. We did not have a car and did not need one. The only small issue for some renters would be the steep stairs from the ground floor up to the bedrooms.
