(30m2), the terrrace adds 16m2 living space , as you will use this for outside dining, relaxing and sunbathing and everlasting admiring the blue sea and wonderful bays and coastlines.

The North West Italy / Italian Riviera/Liguria region

Liguria is a very sheltered area and is not only a favourite destination for foreigners but also for italians living in Turin, Milan etc. The winters are temperate, in february the country side colours yellow with mimosa and you start to have a lovely warmish springtime feeling. Being on the sea side, in summer, especally july might be hot, you live as the "romans" do: come home for lunch, have a siesta , and go out after 4pm for a swim on one of the surrounding beaches , a stroll in the old city of Ventimiglia (which has lots of narrow shady alleys or a visit to the Hanbury's garden, Monaco, Mentone etc. From the coast -villages winding roads go up quickly into the hills which are covered with orange-lemon-olive yards and high mountains " maritime alps" will give you a different view of this area which is not only "beach" .

Ventimiglia area

Ventimiglia is a surprising town, with a touch of french, italian, oriental atmosphere. The busy vegetable and flower market, the many coffeeshops and icecreams parlours, the trendy shops, the quick switch from italian into french language or a local dialect makes Ventimiglia a "different" town. The old town is a "kasbah" of narrow alleys and streets and piazza's , going up steep to the castle and church, whereas the part of town near the coast has nice beaches, pizzeria's , good restaurants etc.

How to get there

Fly to Nice in France, or Genoa , Milan Malpensa-Linate in Italy . Low cost airport Bergamo.
Drive from Nice to French border, drive from Genova exist autostrada Ventimiglia.

The apartment has a large (16m2) terrace enbellished with flowers and plants., dining table, deckchairs. The surrounding apts are constructed in such a way that you privacy is secured. All kind of plants like azaleas, orange, limon trees and bushes give you a secluded feeling. the residence is on higher grounds over the via Aurelia, which is only used for local traffic.
