The Inland Andalucia / Jaen Province region

The area is mainly countryside with splendid views of the nearby mountains. It can get very hot in the summer, up to 34C, so this is the perfect region to relax in and enjoy the traditional Spanish way of life. Also, if you feel like doing something more energetic, and enjoy walking, birdwatching, horse riding or cycling, then this is the place to visit.

Ventas del Carrizal area

Alhambra Palace in Granada, (if you want entry to the palace you should book in advance), Cordoba is only 45 mins drive away and is well worth a visit, Alcala La Real is about 15 - 20 min drive away, the Sierra Nevada mountain range is only 1hr 30 min drive. For more information on the area visit: www.alcalaonline.net
If you want to play a round of golf the nearest course is in Granada.

Alacala La Real: 20 minutes south on the N432 (towards Granada) a large town with good shopping and weekly Market (Tuesday mornings) there is also a swimming pool and a park ideal for children to play, there is also a good restaurant to have coffee etc whilst watching your children

Alcaudette: situated 10 minutes north on the N432 (towards Cordoba) a good size town with various shopping, supermarkets, town square with many bars and eating choices. This is a very historic town, if you do choose to visit it is advisable to park at the bottom of the town as the streets are very narrow and driving can be very difficult. Once you have parked just keep walking directly for the centre of the town, it is a steep climb but definitely worth the walk as it is very picturesque

Castillo de Locucobin: 10 minutes travel left and left again from the house and keep going, another market square with tapas bars, restaurants various shops . This market town is worth a visit

Local Woodland Walk: Rio De San Juan (river) heading north on the N432 (towards Cordoba) look for a sign to La Rabita (the first left hand turn) as you pull into the turning you can see to your right a parkland and river walk. Park where you can and enjoy a shaded walk along the river, bird watching or generally enjoying the peaceful scenery

Guestbook for Casa Grande

You have a unique property, the first one we have seen with an indoor pool, which looks stunning, I love the ceiling and the columns.

It is a lot of property with the terrace, all the rooms and a garden and is situated in a good spot for guests to get a drink and something to eat without having to drive anywhere. Ideally located for all the tourists.

just to to let you know that we really enjoyed staying at your house and we loved the village as well. Once again thank you very much, your house is wonderful.
