Home description

At the 4th floor of a building located in one of the most typical quarter of Venice, naturally light and airy offering a beautiful view of the roof tops and San Francesco della Vigna Church.
It is composed by a cozy entrance, bedroom with a very warm atmosphere, fully equipped kitchen, separate sitting room, bathroom. The apartment has been recently rennovated taking care not to lose the original atmosphere and style, creating a very pleasant and comfortable holiday home.

The North East Italy / Veneto region

Venice is the heart of Veneto region, from here you can start a day (or possibly more) tour to one of the beautiful nearby cities and sarrounding areas, all easely reachable either by car or by train: Treviso , Padova, Vicenza, Verona, Belluno. They all are very interesting from a cultural and historical point of view, but also for the natural beauties of the nearby hills, for the culinary tradition and the wine production.
So if you go to Treviso do not miss to visit Asolo and the Montello, if you go to Padova do not miss to see the Colli Euganei, if you go to Vicenza the Colli Iberici, for Verona the famous Garda Lake, and if you go to Belluno do not miss to spend more than one day in the famous Dolomiti mountains, overall if your holiday is in winter.
The climate of our region is continental, so hot in summer and cold in winter with warm spring and autumn. Wathever season you will decide to come you will find beautiful places, colours and food.


Venice / Central Venice area

Castello is the eastern part of Venice, from San Marco towards east, a less known part of Venice, but not minor for its beauty and history. The apartment is a 2 minutes walk from the famous San Francesco della Vigna Church, that gives the name to the quarter.Each year, in the adjacent "Campo", the traditional Sant'Antonio Holiday takes place with music, dance and venetian culinary specialities served open air. Important places of cultural and historical interest only a few minutes walk from San Francesco are:
- the Arsenale, big complex of shipyars of XII century, where the ships of the Serenissima Republic were built. Now it hosts several of the Venice Biennale exhibitions,
- San Marco Square with its Cathedral and the Doge's Palace,
- San Giovanni e Paolo
- Santa Maria Formosa
- Rialto and its famous fish market
From the nearest "vaporetto" stop (Celestia) the Islands of Murano, Burano, Torcello and the Lido beach are reachable in few time. At Venice Lido all watersports and tennis, golf, horse riding are available.
Impossible to list all the events and typical holidays taking place in Venice during the year, to say only the most famous and important Carnival (February) and Redentore (fireworks on the lagoon, 3rd Saturday of July). How to get there

The house is easely reachable both from the airport, the rail station or Piazzale Roma (car terminal) , as follows:

From the rail station:
>vaporetto nr 52 (after Ponte degli Scalzi) , ask to the driver to stop at Celestia (this is the stop nearest to the house, 4 minutes walk)
>or vaporetto nr 82, via Grand Canal , with stop at San Zaccaria ( 8 minutes walk from the house)
>or vaporetto nr 51, via Giudecca Canal, and stop at San Zaccaria

From Piazzale Roma (car and bus terminal)
>same vaporetto lines (52, 82 or 51)

From the airport:
>boat of the company “Alilaguna”, stop at Fondamenta Nuove, from here line nr 52 coming from Piazzale Roma with direction Venice Lido, and stop at Celestia
>or autobus nr 5 to Piazzale Roma, from here line nr 52, or 82 or 51

From Tronchetto Island (car parking)
>vaporetto nr 82 and stop

Dining table in the kitchen extends to seat 5 comfortably, the sitting room is connecting with the kitchen and extends as well to seat 5 offering a beautiful view, the bedroom has a double bed, becoming twin on request, and a big wardrobe. A third single bed is in the sitting room.

Salizada San Francesco, where the apartment faces, is the commercial heart of the quarter, with all first need shops. The area nearby is very well served by all local services, and very near to famous restaurants and more cheaper typical "trattorie". Important places of cultural and historical interest are only a few minutes walk from the apartment, in particular the Arsenale and San Marco. From the nearest vaporetto stop (Celestia) the Island of Murano, Burano, Torcello and the Lido Beach are reachable in few time.
