The North East Italy region

Elegant, inimitable, exciting and romantic: this is VENICE, the gem on any tour of Italy where churches, palazzi, ancient bridges, monuments and piazzas confirm its artistic and cultural vitality.

We are proud to offer a wide selection of self-catering apartments in Venice, all of them perfectly located to reach easily the main points of interest like San Marco square with the Basilica, either by foot or by boat along Canal Grande.

Piazza San Marco, with its imposing Campanile Bell Tower, the Basilica, Palazzo Ducale and Museo Correr for the art lovers, is the beating heart of Venice. From here, you can take whatever direction and the calli (Venetian streets) will lead you to enchanting parts of the city. Venice is divided into six zones: Cannaregio, Castello, Dorsoduro, San Marco, San Polo and Santa Croce.

Venice, Veneto

Venice experiences very high humidity, with hot weather in July and August. Temperatures in summer usually range between 30°C to 33°C, dropping in winter to 0°C to 3°C. Due to its location on the Adriatic coast, Venice often experiences thunderstorms and rain showers which, particularly in spring and autumn, tend to cause flooding. Known as the 'acqua alta', it is best to pack waterproof shoes or boots to avoid a soaking. April to October is usually the busiest time in Venice, though it is a popular destination all year round. Christmas, Easter, Carnival (in February) and the Venice International Film Festival (in August) are also busy periods, and winter is perhaps the best time to travel to avoid crowds and find better rates on accommodation.

Popular dishes include risotto, rice cooked with many different kinds of food, from vegetables to seafood, pork meat or chicken livers. Bigoli (a typical Venetian fresh pasta, similar to a thicker kind of spaghetti), fettuccine (hand-made noodles), ravioli and the similar tortelli (filled with meat, cheese, vegetables or pumpkin) and gnocchi (potatoes-made fresh pasta), are fresh and often hand-made pasta dishes (made of eggs and wheat flour), served together with meat sauce (ragù) often made with duck meat, sometime together with mushrooms or peas, or simply with melted butter.
