This luxury villa offers both a city and beach holiday opportunity as we are just 20 minutes from the romantic splendour of Venice and just 15 minutes from the famous beach resorts of Lido Di Jesolo (YEZolo) and Caorle. Combine a few days in Venice and a few days at the beach resorts with the luxury of relaxing in the tranquil private surroundings of your own grand Venetian villa, complete with tanning terrace, sunbeds, outdoor eating area & BBQ.

Take a tour of the neighbouring vineyard, ride bicycles through the nut farm to neighbouring villages with stunning views of the snow capped Dolomite Mountains. We are also close to the old historic and artistic town of Treviso (the birthplace of Benetton) , with very fashionable shops and wonderful selection of restaurants. Treviso is full of lively meeting places, street markets, etc.

The train station at San Dona Di Piave (another beautiful town nearby) will take you directly into the centre of Venice in 20 mins. Just park your hire car at the station. Rail tickets to Venice are very reasonable. Or alternatively you can drive the car to Venice and park at Piazzale Roma, the land gateway to Venice. From there you simply step onto the Vaporetto (water bus) at the top of the Grand Canal and you will be transported through Venice.

As for nightlife, at Jesolo beach resort, the word "discoteque" is an understatement. Here, new trends in night life are created and then spread to become musts in Italy and abroad. Every night, numerous night spots compete to offer the most original and chic sensations, sounds, colours and shows. A boat called the Jolly Roger cruises along the shore at Jesolo offering a pirate experience for all the family in 'the craziest galleon in the world.' Children will also be keen to visit Aqualandia, a big water/fun park at the western end of town. Alongside the theme park is one of Jesolo's many mini-golf courses.

Jesolo's long, long beach is a fireworks display of fun that has sports activities, tournaments and competitions of every kind for folks of every age. And an endless series of refreshment stands, bars and restaurants along the beach provides food and drink to thousands of suntan buffs and people who just can't get enough of the sun and the sea.

As is to be expected, marine sports are the most important sporting activities at Jesolo. There are so many it's hard to chose. You can either practice your favourite sport, or try something new with the aid of expert instructors in swimming, diving, windsurfing, sailboating and water skiing. And you can rent all the equipment you need. There's also sea scooting, paraflying and deep-sea fishing, as well as docking facilities with the latest equipment for those who like to go boating.

Also from Jesolo you can leave the car and take the boat to Venice. Just 15 minutes by car and you are in Punta Sabbioni where the boat to Venice is leaving every half hour. This is an occasion not just to see Venice but also the beautiful Laguna of Venice.

The North East Italy / Veneto region

The Veneto area is convenient to visit Venice, the beach resorts at Jesolo, Caorle or Lugano, Verona (for Opera lovers and see the balcony of Romeo & Juliet), the Lakes (Guarda or Como) or even Milan. The historic and artistic city of Treviso is also within driving distance.

The city offers wonderful upmarket shops and restaurants as well as regular markets including a famous fish market. Lido Di Jesolo offers a buzzing popular beach resort and the smaller resort of Caorle is also beautiful and less crowded.

You can also drive into the Dolomite mountains to famous ski resort areas such as Cortina from here. Even in the summer, the scenery up there is breathtaking. The biggest attraction of all of course is the romantic, amazing City of Venice, only 20 minutes from Villa San Thoma.

There are many small picturesque Italian towns around the area worth visiting and many have regular markets, such as Ponte Di Piave, Noventa Di Piave and Oderzo.

Venice, Veneto / San Dona Di Piave area

5 minutes drive from the villa is the sizeable, vibrant and beautiful town of San Dona Di Piave with its landmark church bearing dramatic Roman Columns. Many cafes, wine bars, gellaterias, restaurants and beautiful shops are offered here as well as a fast direct train link into the amazing, romantic city of Venice.

There is a wonderful little river on the quiet road where the villa is located for those who enjoy fishing. You'll be able to catch your dinner here and cook it on the BBQ at the villa. There is also an area for hunting on the opposite side of the river. You will regularly see wild pheasant walking along the road as well as Peacocks, cranes, ducks and chickens.

How to get there

Easy Jet fly direct into Marco Polo Airport Venice or Ryan Air Fly into Treviso Airport. Many other airlines also fly to Venice and Treviso airports from the UK and Ireland. Either airport is suitable to holiday at our villa. Avis, Hertz, Europcar, Budget and also Easy Car are available at the airports. Budget or Easy Car offer the best deals.

The beautiful soggiorno (living room) is decorated in Venetian style, with a dramatic gold mirror, stunning antiques & art as well as wonderful luxury sofas and chairs. A popular feature of the soggiorno area is the integral bar.

An indoor dining area is located off the soggiorno and in winter months you can light the log fire in this room to create a wonderful romantic atmosphere. There is another more casual living area attached to the large country style kitchen.

This area is beautifully decorated in black, silver and sand again with luxury furnishings and a big screen Panasonic TV, Home theatre system and Sky. We have seven bedrooms, mostly en-suite.

The main master bedroom is palatial in size with a romantic antique venetian bed and large en suite bathroom. This room also has a walk in wardrobe attached. The bathrooms and showers are all a high quality and the pressure of the showers is superb.

Another double bedroom with double doors onto the terrace, is located off the kitchen downstairs with use of a toilet shower room that also serves as a utility room. This makes the villa suitable for wheelchair users, elderly or infirm. There are two extra fold out beds and a baby's cot meaning the villa can sleep an extra 2 and a baby beyond the 14 accommodated in 7 double bedrooms.

Upstairs all of the bedrooms are decorated with antique Venetian style beds and furnishings. One downstairs bedroom and bathroom makes the villa suitable for wheelchair users, elderly or infirm.

Further details outdoors:
The kitchen and living room leads onto the fabulous outdoor tanning terrace where guests can eat outdoors during the summer. Luxury outdoor furnishings, wicker sofas and sunbeds are framed by dramatic canvas curtains tied back to the large wooden pergola.

When the candles & garden torches are lit at night the terrace looks just like a luxury beach club. The beautiful ample gardens offer up fresh fruit such as figs (which make a wonderful salad), pomegranate, lemons (just ready to pick for the gin & tonics) and kumquats. An automatic remote control is provided for the private electric gates. There are two sets of gates at the entrance to the house.

Two brand new bicycles are available for guest use, there is table football to entertain the kids (and the adults!). You can also sample the wines of the neighbouring vineyard such as Caberent Franc, Raboso, Verduzzo all made just next door by our wonderful Italian neighbours . We are also located in an apartment on the ground floor attached to the property and can assist with any needs you may have.

We also sell individual rooms at a nightly rate. The prices quoted per night are per double room ensuite. Double rooms with shared bathroom are charged at 65 euro per night.

Heating supplement in winter months is £200 per week.

We can accept payments by cheque or bank transfer in GBP or Euros.or payment via Paypal. Note if paying via Paypal/credit card then we must levy the Paypal commission charge of 4%. Cheques on arrival are not acceptable as we do not have time to clear them before your arrival.
