Home description
When you arrive in St Mark's and cross the astounding piazza you will pass under the Clock tower or Torre dell'Orologio and find yourself in the Mercerie one of the 'busiest, richest and narrowest shopping streets' and also the main link to the Rialto. Entering through a side street you must climb five (relatively easy) sets of steps (photo shown) to reach our 5th floor apartment. Once there you'll find the walk was worth it and you can overlook the bustling Mercerie below and see the gunmetal Moors strike the hour on the Clock tower as well as enjoy a preprandial drink on the balcony under the benign eye of St Mark. This attractive well-equipped flat is comfortable, convenient to all amenities and even manages to have a 'nice feel' to it. We hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do and have a great Venetian experience. Smoking is restricted to balcony only. Children over 10.

The North East Italy / Veneto region
The Veneto lies in the northernmost sector of Italy ranging from the Dolomite mountains in the north to the Venetian Lagoon in the south. It is one of the most prosperous Italian regions with an area of 47,562sq km and a population of 4.5 million.
It has excellent road and rail links with the rest of Europe and international travel is facilitated by the three airports in Marco Polo, Treviso and Verona. The highly successful medieval Venetian state arose out of the mercantile dynamism of the mainland cities of the Veneto, including, Padua, Maestre, Vicenza, as well as Verona, Treviso and the 'Old Lady of the Lagoon', Venice, who, in her prime, 'ruled much of the Mediterranean.
This rich history is evident everywhere in the Veneto where architecture, crafts, music, painting and theatre all reflect the multicultural influences of its former trading partners. And there are mountains to climb and Palladian villas to see!

Venice is unique! Unlike other cities it never disappoints and the piazza San Marco just beside the apartment is a good place to begin your tour. The Campanile, Doge's Palace, Torre dell'Orologio, Basilica San Marco, the Library, Museum and the Columns of San Marco and San Teodoro are the big attractions but so too are the impromtu concerts and gatherings and the wonderfully magic atmosphere in the world's 'largest drawingroom'.
How to get there
Ryanair transports visitors from all over Europe to Treviso just 45 minutes away from Venice and the airport in Treviso is well served by a frequent bus link to the famous Piazzale Roma in Venice. A scenic trip along the Grand Canal by vaporetto (waterbus) will then bring you to St Mark's square. Walk across St Marks under the clock Tower and the apartment is less than 50 metres away on the famous Mercerie. Marco Polo International airport is just 20 minutes from Venice by water taxi or 1hour by waterbus (vaporetto) and also hosts many budget airlines.The Valerio Catullo airport in Verona is approximately 2 hours away. Many large Ferries particularly from Greece and its islands come to Venice.

Further details indoors: The apartment offers two bedrooms, two bathrooms (one of the bedrooms is en suite) and a living room cum dining room. The entrance corridor into the apartment doubles as a cloakroom. Each bedroom is equipped with very good presses and generally the bedrooms are a good size, light and airy. In addition there is a full sized fold up bed and an option of bringing this into the living room where a screen can provide privacy. The kitchen off the living room is a small galley kitchen with a microwave, two electric plates, kettle, toaster, fridge and washing machine. It is very small but well equipped. The Balcony offers the possibility of outdoor dining as well as being a haven for the smoker. Linen and Towels are included.
Further details outdoors: Garden Furniture including a table and seating for five people are installed on the attractive Balcony overlooking the Domes of St Mark's Basilica. Electric lights allow for late night dining. Smoking restricted to balcony.

English speaking guides can meet you at the vaporetto stop (San Zaccaria) at San Marco and bring you to the apartment between 9 am and 8 pm. Outside of these hours a meet and greet service will cost more.
Conditions
A 25% deposit is required 6 weeks prior to your visit and the balance four weeks before the commencement of your tenancy. On arrival a cash cleaning deposit of E85 is required. Children only over the age of 10 are welcome.
