The Alighieri “D” is the largest between the four apartments comprising the whole top floor of this authentic historical Palazzo found in the west side of Castello District, only a few minutes’ walk from San Marco Square, one of the last integrally authentic parts of the city. In the surroundings there are lots of artisan and antique ateliers, local food shops and delicious osterie (traditional restaurants). Some of the cultural landmarks that can be found in Castello beside the well-known Arsenale and Biennale gardens include the Church of Santi Giovanni e Paolo, the Scuola of San Giorgio degli Schiavoni, the church of San Giorgio dei Greci, the Campo Santa Maria Formosa, the Church of San Zaccaria and many others.

The Alighieri can be reached from Marco Polo Airport by private water taxi in about 20 minutes ride through the lagoon, or in less than 5 minutes’ walk from the Vaporetto (ferry boat) stop San Zaccaria, thus conveniently located.

The entire property has been completely and luxuriously restored in 2013: the elevator has been installed, the original terrazzo flooring repaired, frescoes and stuccoes brought back to the ancient splendor, the terrace equipped with table, sunshade and sun chairs, at the ground floor a Sauna is available for the use of guests of the Alighieri Palace on request.

A welcoming hallway leads you straight into the grand master bedroom, where superb furnishings and plenty of natural light really enhance the beauty of this exquisite bedroom. Sleep under the frescoed ceiling and feel like a Doge as you awake!

The elegant living room showcases a contemporary and functional open plan kitchen, while offering very comfortable sitting space on a designer sofa. Dine either at the main table or at the breakfast bar, part of the kitchen. There is an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub and a further en-suite bathroom with shower for the second bedroom. This bedroom has a more contemporary feel with crisp linens and fresh interiors. A clever mix of classic and contemporary to suit all. The apartment features a spacious attic floor that can be used as sitting room, play room or extra bedroom with lovely matching twin beds, suitable for children or teenagers.
