About the home

Lovely, quiet little apartment for short stays (minimum 2 nights) or longer lets (up to 1 year). Near the Arsenale, in a non-touristy area, only ten minutes walk from St. Mark's, it is located at the ground floor but safe from high water danger (mt.1,52 above sea level) and has its own entrance.

Simply but pleasantly furnished, this apartment is very comfortable for 2-3 people. The windows overlooking a canal, a "riva" and a little inner courtyard provide enough light and create a lovely atmosphere.

A comfortable living/dining room open plan with a well-equipped kitchen area, a double bedroom and a shower room (including W.C., basin and bidet).

The two sofa beds (one double, the other with two beds) in the living room, however, can be suitable for 2 or even 3 persons more.

Washing machine, T.V., radio/CD player available; no telephone. Linen provided.

Venice is the heart of Veneto region; from here you can visit the isles of the Lagoon: Murano, Burano, Mazzorbo, Torcello; you can reach, by car, by bus or by train, the beautiful nearby cities and surrounding areas: Treviso with Asolo and the Montello , Padova, the Colli Euganei and the Riviera del Brenta with the wonderful ancient villas by Palladio, ,Vicenza and the Colli Berici, Verona and the lake of Garda, Belluno with the famous Dolomiti mountains, Chioggia.

They all offer interesting experiencies from a cultural and historical point of view, for the natural beauties of the landscape, for the culinary tradition and the wine production.

The Venice, Veneto / Castello, Venice area

A quiet part of Venice, not overcrowded with tourists but not far from Piazza San Marco and Rialto Bridge. You can experience the real Venice, visiting little shops in the picturesque via Garibaldi (but there are also some minimarkets) and walking along channels and old buildings; the house is in front of the big wall of the ancient Arsenale, few minutes from the gardens of Sant'Elena offering peace and tranquility and the Biennale (modern art exhibition every 2 years).

You can taste typical venetian drinks and foods in many wine stores, cafe bars, restaurants. In 15 minutes you can reach by vaporetto (sea-bus) the Lido, where you can walk along the Adriatic sea or enjoy the sun and have a bath on the wanderful beach.

We have been welcomed by the owner who gave us much information that facilitated our stay. To live in that apartment gave us the impression that we were residents of Venice rather than tourists. The apartment is simple, charming and comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped. The apartment is right next to a canal, the dining room window giving a view on a small boat driving by once in a while. The area is quiet with little circulation, away from the busy tourist section, but close enough when you feel like action or ice cream. It is an easy access, thanks to Mr. Donati's well laid out map. We had a very comfortable stay, our two teenagers shared the living room to sleep. We would go back without any hesitation.

Nous avons été accueillis par un propriétaire sympathique qui nous a donné moult informations pour faciliter notre séjour. Habiter un appartement à Venise nous a donné l'impression d'être des Vénitiens plutôt que des touristes. L'appartement est charmant, simple, comfortable. En bordure d'un petit canal, une fenêtre qui donne sur le canal, une fenêtre qui donne sur la calle, et une fenêtre qui donne sur la cour. Le coin est tranquille, peu passant, en retrait des grandes artères touristiques tout en étant à quelques minutes de marche des zones d'activités. L'accès est facile. Nous étions très à l'aise avec nos deux ados qui se partageaient le salon. Nous y retournerions sans hésitation. J. Savary
