Why not treat yourselves to a fabulous holiday in the world’s most romantic city? Our wonderful Venetian home is now ready for you to rent. The apartment consists of a dining room with a sitting area and kitchen with a lovely canal view. There is one double bedroom with 2 extra occasional single beds. The bathroom with shower is finished with marble tiles.

The apartment is part of an award-winning project called Judeca Nova, which comprises of 10 new apartment blocks built in an uncompromising modern style.

The flat is light, airy, and very comfortable. It has air conditioning, central heating and a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Our apartment benefits from all modern conveniences including double-glazing and a video entry-phone system.

Please note that the TV functions only as a means of watching DVDs. Local Italian TV programmes cannot currently be watched on it.

The apartment is situated on quiet but trendy Giudecca Island and is just a few minutes away by boat from Saint Mark’s Square. Giudecca is also the home of the Cipriani Hotel and the Redentore Church. Sir Elton John has an apartment nearby.

Due to the many small footbridges in the city of Venice that do not have lifts, we do not believe that the area is particularly well suited to the needs of wheelchair users or prams.

The North East Italy / Veneto region

Situated in the heart of Venice, the world's most beautiful city, our apartment is just a short hop by boat from St Mark's Square. From our apartment you can wander around the historic city at your leisure, taking in all its most famous sights and discovering a few new ones of your own. You could also take a short boat ride to Venice Lido to enjoy its lovely beaches or head towards the mainland to discover the Veneto region and the Dolomites to the north.

The Veneto region of north-east Italy has much to offer tourists. Treviso, Verona and Padua are charming cities and well worth a visit. There are also many lovely villages to see, such as Asolo. The Alps lie to the north and are within easy reach by car.

Be amazed by the abundance of music, history, art and architecture in Venice and the mesmerising beauty of its canals. Venice is a delight to the senses and it is so full of life and unexpected events that it is always surprising, no matter how many times you visit. It is of course a city of romance and famous monuments, but it is also so much more, especially if you manage to escape the well-worn areas around San Marco and Rialto and head fo the lesser-known areas of the city such as San Polo or Cannaregio. Isola della Giudecca (where the apartment is situated) is just a few minutes away from San Marco and Dorsoduro, yet it is nonetheless a haven of peace and splendid isolation. Giudecca has Palladian churches and it is the home of top quality restaurants and hotels including the Cipriani hotel and Harry's Dolci. It also has a range of budget and medium level restaurants. The island of Giudecca enjoys panoramic views of the southern lagoon, which can also be seen from the apartment. To the north there is a spectacular view of the church of Santa Maria di Salute, which lies on the opposite bank of the Giudecca Canal. The Doge's Palace and the Campanile on St Mark's Square can be seen easily across the Bacino di San Marco.

The world famous Venice Carnival takes place in February. There are other festivals at various times of the year including the film festival, the Regatta Storico, the spectacular Redentore festival and the Biennale exhibition

Fly to Marco Polo or Treviso airports and take a bus from the airport terminals to Piazzale Roma and then a No. 2 vaparetto to Palanca boat stop, where our local agent would meet you and escort you to the apartment. The apartment is within 5 minutes walk from Palanca. Alternatively, you could take a water taxi directly from Marco Polo airport to the apartment though this is more expensive.

Flights are available through many national airlines. Low cost carriers including Easyjet, Ryanair, BMIbaby, Jet2 and Thomsonfly also fly to Venice.

You could also travel to Venice by road or rail.

“Wonderful apartment and location” We had not been to Venice before so chose the Giudecca apartment based on past reviews. I have to say we're glad we made that decision. The apartment is lovely. Very comfortable and clean with everything you could need. The location is perfect - very quiet and in a delightful area and close to the vaporetta and supermarket. The very charming Caterina met us and took as to the apartment and she was a great help on the one occasion we needed assistance. We would love to go back to Venice and would not hesitate to stay in the Giudecca apartment again if it is available next time.

“Perfect family Apartment, in a wonderful location, overlooking a canal” We stayed in the apartment for the October half term week. We arrived late on the Sunday night and went straight to bed. The following morning we opened the shutters in the lounge and had a real WOW moment when we saw the view over looking the canal, which was lovely. We were able to have breakfast whilst watching all the boats and the local fishermen going about their everyday life. The apartment is in a very peaceful location and yet only a short boat ride across from Venice. We brought the 7 day ACTV pass for the vaperetto which costs 50 Euros per person, but is very good value as it gives you unlimited travel including all of the lagoons. This normally costs 6 euros 50 for 60 mins travel. The apartment is very well equipped and our children loved the electric Aero beds which took a couple of minutes to inflate. Eating out is quite expensive but we went to the local supermarkets, Prix which is in the opposite direction to the Palanca vaperetto stop on Giudecca has very good local food and we even made our own pizzas in the apartment. I would strongly suggest self catering if going to Venice as we found restaurants to be very expensive, but the supermarkets were cheaper than home and the food was much tastier and fresher. Neil the owner has thought of everything that you need and it was great to sit down after a full day walking around venice, We made use of the dvds that are in the apartment and also the cd player. We would certainly recommend the apartment as it is very competitively priced and you really would struggle to find such nice accommodation elsewhere. Venice is lovely, but can get very busy with tourists and so going back to the apartment in the evening was lovely and peaceful. We shall certainly recommend you. Response: Thank you for your review. “Spot on!” This was our first trip to Venice and we couldn't have been more delighted with the city and this apartment. The apartment was perfect for us...it was ideally located and provided a great springboard to see all the sights! It was in a quiet and beautiful location with everything we needed. “Quiet and comfortable” Situated a few minutes' walk from the vaporetto (waterbus) station Palanca with a lovely canal view from the kitchen/diner window,this flat was a perfect place for two. Over the last 25 years we have visited Venice regularly, but this was the first time we stayed at Guidecca - a very good experience. The large tourist groups don't go there, so you are away from the crowds and you have the opportunity to taste 'real Venetian life'. Don't miss the sea food shop open every morning next to the Palanca vaporetto stop - great fun! Local restaurants are good and you also have take away pizza places. The local Coop offers a good variety of choices for home cooking, which we also did. We stayed in the flat for one week. It was comfortable, quiet, clean and well kept. Since it is not very big, we think it works best for two adults, even though there are two extra matresses available. Some Venice tips: Buy a vaporetto card (2,3, 7 days) when you arrive at the station or Piazzale Roma - very good value for money. Explore other areas than the main streets between Rialto and Piazza San Marco - there you can find yourself almost alone, no other tourists. 'Get lost' - just wander around - you will always discover something new. Have a Spritz con Aperol at one of our favourite campos: Campo San Stefano and Campo San Barnaba. Don't miss the ghetto. Eat gelato - the world's best. We can recommend Nico's at Zattere, they also have free wifi outside. Buy hand made jewellery and real Italian clothes at Spilli, a small and very nice shop on Ponte Miracoli. Response: Thank you for your review. I am delighted that you enjoyed your holiday at my apartment. I agree with you that the apartment is ideal for a couple and there is plenty of room for two. We do have single Aero-Beds for up to two more young guests so that we are able to cater for families with children. Some families who have stayed have said that they felt that the property has plenty of room for 4 people, but I think it all depends on your perspective. For others it can feel a little bit "cosy", although it is really no different from other rental properties that have one double bedroom and a sofa bed in the living room. We have enough seating, dining facilities etc. for up to four people to stay at a time. If you are a family of four and only use the apartment as a base and plan to be out all day, then it is fine.

“Venetian Bargain” The location of this apartment gives the best of both worlds. For a peaceful holiday you are away from the crowds and can enjoy an open window on the canal and chill out to the lapping water from the occasional boat. With wine in hand and some decent food from the local Co-op you can even live cheaper than home! On the other hand the sites, sounds and flavours of hard core Venice are only a short water boat ride away. What those who stay on the main island don't see is the beauty of Venice from a distance - and there are waterside cafes only a few minutes of characterful walk away where that view can be enjoyed. And to finish a quiet night's sleep. Oh yes - it's cheap as well Response: Thank you very much for your review. The apartment is indeed in a quiet location, yet close enough to the main islands of Venice to be able to travel there within a few minutes. The canal view from the apartment is wonderful. As for being cheap, I would like to think that the apartment is good value rather than being cheap in the tacky sense. The property is furnished comfortably and we have aimed to fit the needs of budget-conscious singletons, couples and families (parents plus up to two children).

“Quiet comfort in beautiful Venice” We really enjoyed our stay in this apartment. Being on Giudecca we found to be a real bonus. It is relatively quiet but very well placed to get easily to the main tourist parts of Venice by regular vaporetto transport. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped. The local 'Co op' shop was very useful and the shopping trolley was a welcome find. We did not eat at any of the restaurants on Giudecca, preferring to cook in or sail over to the main part of Venice for an evening meal. Lunch is better value in Venice than dinner! Transfers from the airport (Marco Polo) were very easy. We bought a 7 day vaporetto ticket (about 50 euros) which was valid on the bus too from airport to Plce de Roma vaporetto stop. Because the apartment is on Giudecca we used the vaporettos a lot so made this ticket good value. We visited Murano, Burano, the Lido and the Cemetery island and enjoyed all of the trips we made. We would certainly stay here again. Response: The 7 day pass is definitely worthwhile having but unfortunately it does not cover the cost of the express bus from the airport. This is because a different company (called ATVO) runs the express buses. You can use the 7 day pass for the municipal buses - and one of them goes to the airport although it is not direct and takes considerably longer. The 7 day pass can also be used for all the buses on the LIdo and for trips to Murano, Burano and Chioggia. You can also use it to go to some nearby towns on the mainland such as Treviso

“A quiet haven away from the crowds” A lovely little modern apartment, very clean and comfortable, just a ride away from St Marks.
