Ref. 17018 - Immersed in the labyrinth of streets that cross the Castello district you will find this spacious apartment with a communal terrace that is located just 2 minutes' walk from the Rialto Bridge and 5 minutes from the renowned Saint Mark's Square, making it the perfect base from which to explore Venice.

The 70m2 apartment is situated on the first floor of a building (without a lift) in Campo San Lio, one of the island's most beautiful areas. Perfect for six people, the apartment features two triple bedrooms, each with a double bed and a single bed to offer guests plenty of comfort. The kitchen is spacious and features gas hobs, an oven and a fridge. In the living room there is a dining table, a sofa and a television. You will also have a free Wi-Fi internet connection at your disposal so you can check your emails whenever you wish. Lastly, the bathroom comes equipped with a box shower and a washing machine. The highlight of the apartment is the lovely communal terrace (shared with other apartments belonging to the same owner – see references 17019 and 17020) that is situated on the upper floor, providing the ideal place to have a drink with fellow guests.

Whether you arrive to Venice in train, bus or car, to reach the apartment you need only take the vaporetto water taxi and get off at the Rialto stop where you can cross the Rio Delle Fava Bridge.

Description: Castello is the largest district in Venice and is located in the east of the city. It is the only neighborhood that does not overlook the Grand Canal. It is named after from the castle that was formerly located on the island of San Pietro di Castello dating back to the first part of the Middle Ages.

The San Zaccaria church, of important historical relevance, can be traced back to the IX century. A Benedictine Convent was later added to the original building, and accommodated the daughters of some of the best families in Venice. There are a multitude of stories about the particularly uncommon life led by the nuns in the convent with parties and entertainment that also attracted young masked gentlemen. The church is the burial site of many Dogi (the chief magistrate and leader of the Ancient Republic of Venice).

The city arsenal was of great strategic importance for the city: it was a great complex that housed the ship building yards. One of the most important buildings in the city is the Basilica de San Pietro e Paolo, one of Venices largest Basilicas, of Italian gothic style, that is home to various monuments and paintings well worth visiting.

A pleasant stroll around the Venice Public Gardens is also well recommended; built by Napoleon I, they offer beautiful tree-lined avenues and various XIX rococo statues, as well as a play area including swings and slides. Every other year the parks host a large, impressive modern art festival the Biennale that is held during the summer months.
