The Beachouse
About the home
Small children will love the sand garden safe behind locked gates and picket fence while
teenagers will appreciate the freedom to explore all the amusements of a small lively
seaside resort.
Adults will be happy knowing everyone else is happy...they will enjoy the privacy of the 3 flats
which give a degree of privacy for large groups. Oysters and champagne in the market
every morning gives a good start to the day.
This holiday beach villa is set in the ideal holiday base from where you can explore the Medoc region.
In total the house has three kitchens, 3 bathrooms, one with bath. Dishwasher, washing machine, microwave 3 ovens, 3 fridge freezers. 2 televisions with English T.V and two DVD players.
It has 7 bedrooms in total (two twin bedded). All linen and towels are provided at 12 euros per person.
In PEAK SEASON i.e. July and August the whole house lets as one house to large family groups or groups of friends. The layout (originally three separate units) gives a degree of privacy for large groups who can organise their own separate identities if so desired eating together on the verandah. In MID SEASON the house divides into three units each with its own gate and well screened.
Despite being in the centre of things the Beachouse is quiet and private for sunbathing with off street parking. It is old fashioned and charming and furnished in a relaxed Beachouse style. This is an authentic holiday house built for the bourgeoisie of Bordeaux in the 30’s who would of probably only used it in August as a rustic interlude so do not expect very spacious accommodation but as you will spend most of your time on the verandah or the beach this should not be a problem and the accommodation is simple and comfortable. It is difficult to imagine that originally it housed a horse and carriage with simple accommodation for the groom at the back!
This is the perfect summer house for surfers, beach lovers and those simply in need of a complete rest in the seaside resort of Montalivet.

We have very mixed feelings about this property. If we start with the positives, the house is furnished in a cute 'shabby chic' style which I love, (but may not be to every ones taste) and... more |
