The Lazio region

Lazio and the Castelli Romani are renowned for its excellent wines and first class olive oil. This is an undiscovered jewel offering the possibility to discovery the real tastes and flavour of Italy rarely seen by tourists. All around there are places to visit for example the medieval town of Artena once known as the bandits haven. This is the largest intact medieval town in Europe which at its highest point it is still only accesible by donkey. The papal residence, Castel Gandolfo is a short distance away where every Wednesday the pope gives a papal
audience. This is only a few examples of many other treasures too numerous to mention, come and discover for yourself we assure you will not be disappointed.

Velletri area

Velletri is one of the most charming of the Castelli Romani and while being a small centre it offers every possible convenience: Cinemas, bars, restaurants, shops, hairdressers.
Not to miss: the beautiful historical cathedral of saint Clemente, the ancient city gate Porta Napoletana, and the square made famous by Garibaldi which has his name.

How to get there

By Airplane
for those who arrive in Rome by plane:
-from Fiumicino airport we advise to get to Termini station with the Leonardo express bus service of Trenitalia FS and then get a train directly to Velletri
-from Ciampino airport we advise to get to Ciampino train station with the COTRAL/SCHIAFFINI service outside the airport and get the train directly to Velletri.

By train
for those who arrive at Rome by train
-from termini staition take the direct line to Velletri
-If you are at a station between Rome and Velletri (for example Ciampino) continue on that line as far as Velletri.

by car
-from Ciampino airport take the via Appia in the direction of Albano and continue on this road until you arrive in Velletri
