Both the kitchen/dining area and living room open onto a large south facing terrace, fully equipped for alfresco dining for 12 people. A stone staircase leads down from here to an enclosed garden where you will find an 8 X 4 metre pool, a wooden deck complete with loungers to catch the sun and a climbing frame (swings, slide etc) to entertain the children. There is a large, shady lime tree for those of you who prefer the shade. The Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Vaucluse region
Of all the regions of France, Provence is one of the most irresistible, reknown for its mild winters and long summer days.
Whether you are interested in wine (Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas and Côtes du Rhone), history (Avignon, Orange, Pont du Gard), natural history (Luberon National Park with its famous villages, Mont Ventoux, Camargue), art (Cezanne originally comes from Aix en Provence, Van Gogh is associated with Arles), sport (something for everyone, including the internationally reknowned ascent of the Mont Ventoux on your bike!) or food, there is something for everyone.
Many places have cultural festivals including Opera in Aix en Provence and Orange, theatre in Avignon and Jazz/piano in La Roque d'Antheron during the summer months.
Velleron area
Velleron, unspoilt and picturesque, is a lovely provencal village where you can buy your baguette and croissants at one of the two local boulangeries, meat and staples at the small supermarket, mouthwatering cakes and chocolates at the patisserie, and delicious fruit and vegetables from the farmers market held at 6 pm, six days a week during the summer.
There is also a restaurant (Chez Udo), a pizza parlour takeaway, a florist, a delicatessen and, of course, 3 typical 'cafés' in the village.
Velleron is 4km from L'Isle sur la Sorgue and its antiques market, restaurants, watermills and river. The busy town of Avignon is 20 km away.
How to get there
Velleron is 20 minutes by car from Avignon ( A7 motorway exit Avignon NORD) Nearest airports : Avignon,(20 minutes), Marseille and Nîmes (one hour) . Nice and Lyon (2h30). TGV Avignon 30 minutes.
