Casa de Colina is an exclusive 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom country house with private pool and stunning mountain views. The house has a hillside location overlooking the beautiful Spanish town of Velez Rubio and is only 2 minutes from the town with it's shops, bars and restaurants. Casa de Colina is built on three floors. On the main living level there is a large double through living room with open log fire, dining room, under stairs cloak room with a Safe, fully fitted kitchen, three double bedrooms and two bathrooms plus balcony terrace. Two further bedrooms (with Captains beds that can be single or double) and a further bathroom are located on the third level. On the lower level there is a large 3 car garage/workshop, utility room and games room with en-suite w.c and shower room. In the new 'Casiata' by the pool you will find a kitchenette with Fridge/Freezer and terrace with outdorr furniture to relax on whilst enjoying a drink or to just laze in the Spanish sunshine.
Outside there is a private swimming pool, terraces and BBQ area. The ‘Casa’ is set in approximately 2.5 acres of private land.
We have equipped Case De Colina so you can enjoy your holiday in Real Spain but with all the comforts of home.

The Velez Rubio / Los Molinos Almeria area
Velez Rubio is located within the Velez Natural Park. It's rich heritage is illustrated by the spectatcular church in the middle of town which can be seen from miles around. The Los Velez area comprises Velez Rubio, Velez Blanco, Chirivel, Maria and dozens of villages and hamlets. The area is still very much Real Spain and has not been spoilt by over-development or anglification.The area around Los Velez is an area of outstanding natural beauty with activities for many outdoor pursuits. Cueva de los Letreros, a Unesco World Heritiage Site, is the park's most well-known cave, with some of Europe's most important rock paintings including Indalo Man, the regions symbol.
Velez Rubio hosts a number of fiestas throughout the year and has a full range of local restaurants and bars catering for most tastes.
Less than an hour away is the Mini Hollywood Theme park. An array of Hollywood blockbusters have been filmed in the area including The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Laurance of Arabia. Mini Hollywood is a whole day experience with a full size Zoo, Waterpark and the film sets, with regular shows.
The Desert Springs Golf course is a short drive away. This unique golf experience is frequented by a range of golfers from around the world.

Casa de Colina is served by 4 Spanish airports; Almeria, Alicante, Granada and Murcia each about a 90 minute drive. All of these airports are well served by the low cost airlines. Each airport has easy access to the Spanish motorway system, which compared to the UK network, is empty and very easy to drive on. Casa de Colina is accessed from Exit 106 (was Exit 404) of the E92N motorway.

The villa itself is lovely and the views are breathtaking. Velez Rubio is very Spanish and so much the better for that! We were 2 families and in the first half of our holiday the pool was wonderful. However we then experienced issues around the cleanliness and look of the pool which were blamed on suncream although we did shower first, meaning despite cleaning operations by Sarah we lost the use of the pool for our last 4 days. We were forced to use (and pay for) the village pool- albeit recommended! We found out later that these callouts were charged against our security deposit and this despite being told that the filter was too small for the pool/group usage! Also beware the advert is not wholly accurate - PS2 advertised was not working and the games room was akin to a sauna after sunrise and until sunset i.e. far too hot for the children to endure/enjoy. And be aware the villa is not 2 minutes drive or walk from the village - try 5/10 and 25 minutes respectively, remembering that the last part of the route is a dirt track which will test your hire car's suspension and steering! Response: Thank you for being the first to review our house utilising the new TripAdvisor Service. We appreciate yor feedback and as you will see have acted upon it where appropriate. With reference to the pool, a number of 2 family groups have stayed with us without issue at the same time of the year. It would appear that the timer controlling the filtration system was incorrectly set; by whom we do not know, but this has now been rectified. The filter is certainly not too small for the pool. We apologise for any inconvienence this may have caused you and your family. I must comment that no charge for call out was incurred by you. At some point the PS/2 controllers have been broken without our knowledge. These have been replaced now we have been informed. As for the games room being a sauna, this is obviously a personal view but the room is equipped with both a fan and dehumidifier and previous guests have appreciated the facility. As for the distances; the nearest shop, DIA, is no more than a 2 minute drive, with the village centre a further 1-2 minutes. In our Guest Comments Book you noted that the Water Park was a 2 hour drive but we drove there in 54 minutes, so maybe you simply drive very slowly!! Yes the house in located on a 'camino' as are a large number of houses in rural Spain however the road is tarmaced to within 400m of the house gates and this is indicated on the last mile directions we send out. We try very hard not to be inaccurate with any of our instructions or comments. |

Guests are fully responsible for the up-keep of the property during their stay. There is an Insurance Waiver fee of £250 per booking refundable should no damage be incurred. Any damage will be deducted from the waiver at a cost rate.

Payment can be by Bank Transfer, Cash. Cheque or Credit Card via PayPal (Charges are extra).
A non-refundable booking fee of 20% is payable at the time of booking.
