Casa Joya is nestled within the mountains of southern Spain in the province of Almeria . We are located in the Los Velez region of Andalucía, between the towns of Velez Rubio and Huercal Overa, both of which offer a good range of shops. Casa Joya radiates tranquillity, charm and hospitality. Once a private house it has been sympathetically restored and refurbished giving it an exquisite and charming ambiance.

All the rooms are spacious with own entrances and self-catering facilities, uninterrupted views of the almond clad mountains. There is a restaurant on site run by former head chef and offers modern classic cuisine. The region is rich with Spanish culture and history with many interesting places to explore. The house provides a perfect base for relaxation and a place you will love to return to after a long day discovering Costa Almeria. The Andalucia region

With many beautiful beaches available in under an hour and four main airports (Alicante, Almeria, Granada and Murcia/San Javier) all less than 2 hours drive away, we offer the best of both worlds - tranquillity and accessibility.

This area the climate is matched, or possibly outstripped, by the warmth of the local people. It is a largely agricultural area but both historically and culturally rich.

Velez Rubio

Velez Rubio: A small but thriving market town and the commercial and economic centre of the Los Velez area. the most notable are the Neolithic site of Cerro de los López and the ruins of the Muslim fort of Cerro del Castellón, in which the remains of an Alcazaba (an Arab citadel) and an interior water system have been preserved.

The Church of La Encarnación, built in the 18th century, is the finest example of the religious baroque style in Almería. It has been declared a National Monument (1982), and has an ornamental façade, conceived as an altarpiece, crowned by two tall square towers, and an interior altarpiece with rococo motifs. The Convent of La Inmaculada and its chapel are also good examples of baroque style.
