The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Malaga borders the provinces of Granada,Cordoba and Seville and is steeped in historic heritage. The beaches of Algarrobo and Caleta de Velez, which has a marina and an 18 hole golf course are only a twenty minute drive away. Nerja famous for its caves and rugged coastline along with the beautiful white pueblo of Frigliana can be reached within 30 minutes.
The interesting cities of Ronda, Sevilla and Cordoba are also within easy reach for day trips. Granada and the Sierra Nevada resort are reached within 1.5hrs drive. Enabling you in the winter months to Ski in the morning and relax on the beach in the afternoon.
Velez Malaga / Arenas area
The ruins of the Castle of Bentomiz, which was one of the last to fall when the Christians invaded, can be seen from the apartment The villages of Arenas and Sayalonga have a meandering maze of streets which still retain the magic and atmosphere of old Spain. The residents are warm and friendly and ever ready to offer help or advice.
A short 5 minute drive along the track to the villages offers banks with cash point, a supermarket, a chemist (24hours), numerous shops, bars, an internet facility, various bars, a local Bistro with excellent food and a pizzeria which has a take away also a small local market on Wednesday and Friday. Both villages have a large public swimming pool. There is also a bus service to and from Velez Malaga on a daily basis.
Nearby Velez Malaga is a delightful historical town with ample shops and restaurants and an excellent open air market every Thursday. There is also a large shopping centre with a bowling alley next door. The Water Park is open during the summer months and offers an exciting day out at very reasonable prices.
Torre-del-Mar and Caleta have good clean beaches with many excellent chiringuitos and restaurants. A promenade runs along the Mediterranean coastline from Torre del Mar to the Marina at Caleta and is a pleasant walk or cycle ride. During the summer months there are market stalls, children's fun fairs and local open air entertainment. Sun lounges and parasols are available for hire on many parts of the beach. Nearby Go-Kart racing is also available again at very reasonable prices.
There are many drives up into the picturesque white villages of Competa, Frigliana, Periana and Comares.
Golf courses are close by with the nearest being only 20 minutes drive away, pre book at www.bavieragolf.com. Other courses can be found on www.anoretagolf.es/ www.golfantequera.com/ www.moriscogolf.com or for a wider range search under Costa del sol golf.
For the more adventurous there is on track trial riding, canoeing, wind-surfing, kayaking, horse riding, scuba diving and many more sports available, some of which can be arranged through the owner. Fishing trips are also possible at the nearby port of Caleta de Velez.
If you wish to visit the Alhambra in Granada it is necessary to obtain tickets and these should be organised as soon as possible prior to your arrival through www.alhambratickets.com (Approximately 14 Euros). The wonderful city of Malaga is also worth a visit with the Pablo Picasso Foundation and Museum.

Malaga airport is 45 minutes away. Car hire is widely available from this airport.
Fly to Malaga ---- 45 minutes drive from airport, most of the budget airlines fly into Malaga from all over the UK. Granada Airport is 1.5 hours drive from the apartment Also served by Budget Airline Ryan Air.
Car Hire---- www.carjet.com is a very good company as it will find you the best deal at that time.
The apartment is reach by a 2km track from the road to Arenas or alternatively a 2.5 km track from Sayalonga which is partly concreted. Contact owners for more details.
