Home description

This south facing villa is set among peaceful slopes overlooking the beautiful white-washed village of Arenas.
The villa is spacious, with a well furnished large lounge / dining area and a fully fitted kitchen, both with high ceilings and exposed beams. There are two bedrooms ( one king size, one twin ) as well as a double bed settee to accommodate two extra guests.
Outside there is a private swimming pool and garden, complete with two patio areas and a shaded area. The Barbecue and comfortable garden furniture make it perfect for dining outdoors during the long summer evenings.
The beach of Torre del Mar is only 15 minutes drive away and for those who like walking the rolling hills of the Sierra Tejeda are on your doorsrep. The villa is ideal for walkers , birdwatchers , artists or those who simply want a stress- free holiday soaking up the sun

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

This area in Andaluicia is in the province of Malaga, with the stunning Mountains and wonderful coastline.
It is not over-crowded by tourisiam. there are many white- washed villages which are steeped in history .
The very pretty resort of Nerja is 20 minute drive away where you will find the famous caves which are a must for any visitor .
Granada is reached in 1.5 hours with the Alhambra Palace ( tickets for this need to be booked in advance which the owners are happy to do at the time of booking your holiday ) and the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada are only 1.5 hours away


Velez Malaga / Arenas area

Arenas is a maze of narrow streets with many fountains and squares where you can sit and admire the traditional Moorish-style architecture The horse and mule are still common sights in this typical Spanish village, which has not been affected by the passing of time.
There is a bank with cash point, a chemist and many little shops ( although some of these appear to be in people's front rooms you will need to be brave and pull back the curtain and say hola ). Arenas has restaurants and many bars, where the locals always offer a friendly welcome.
Arenas is at the foot of Bentomiz mountain at the top of which are the remains of a roman fortress.
Velez Malaga is 10 km from Arenas and is the capital of Axarquia. it is an old market town. The Fortaleza is well worth a visit built in the 13 century it still stands as a symbol of the Moorish civilsation of Velez Malaga.
There are several 13 /14 century churches in the old town, and many shops and restaurants also a large air conditioned shopping centre for when the heat of the day is too much.

most of the budget airlines fly into malaga from all over the UK.
Granada Airport is 1.5 hours drive from the villa. Also served by Budget Airline Ryan Air
Car Hire---- www.carjet.com is a very good company as it will find you the best deal at that time.
The villa is reach by a 1km track from the road to Arenas

You will be met on arrival and taken to your villa
The owners are happy to arrange any booking for activities you may require.
The Villa is up a 1km track


Conditions

1. A returnable damage deposit of 100 Euros is requested on arrival, this will be returned on the morning of departure. ( this can be a cheque that we return on your departure day )
2. guests are requested to vacate the villa by 11.00 am on the day of departure, if no new guests are arriving that day then arrangents with the owner can be made for later departures. Occupancy from 4 pm.
3. It is recommended that you have full and suffieient travel, accident, injury, and medical insurance, Casa Mariposa accepts no liability for injury, damage and loss of luggage and valuables are the guests responsibility at all times

2. What is more enjoyable than Gibraltar, looking over Granada from the Alhambra, Conquering the hills and taking a look at heaven, having lunch at the Balony of Europe in Nerja. It has to be without a doubt sitting at the pool of Casa Mariposa with a good glass of Spanish wine enjoying the sounds of silence that nature brings
