Want to unwind completely, have some fun, forget that the outside world actually exists as a family, a couple or just friends visit Cortijo los Pinos
Cortijo Los Pinos is a spacious and well furnished villa which cannot be overlooked, with breathtaking views from all the terraces and swimming pool. The accommodation offers 3 bedrooms, one double and two twin, all en-suite, a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine, a large lounge dining area {38 m2} with high ceilings, exposed beams and a wood burning stove. All rooms, including the kitchen,have both air-conditioning and heating. The bedrooms also have ceiling fans which can be used instead of the air conditioning to cool the warm night air.
For the YOUNGER GUEST there ia a 'mothercare' cot complete with full bedding, high chairs for use in the house and another to be taken when dining out, a booster seat for over 3's, baby bath , soft mat for play and suitable toys for use in the swimming pool. The kitchen is fully equipped with a blender and mixer to allow easy preparation of food. All that needs to be provided is the push chair.
The south facing porch and terrace are perfect for al-fresco eating and overlook the Mountains of Malaga, the sea at Torre del Mar and the historical monument of Castillo Bentomiz. On a clear day the coast of Morocco can be seen.
There is a secure swimming pool with a large sun deck , which is not over looked, private toilet/shower, bar-b-que and ample space for both sun-bathing and children to play freely. The countryside provides a safe enviroment for children to explore on their own if they can be persauded to leave the swimming pool !
The pergola garden provides a separate bar-b-que area overlooking Lake Vinuela , the mountains of Malaga, El Torcal and the magnificent Mountain of Maroma - perfect for completing your day with that pre-dinner drink whilst cooking those succulant fat prawns or juicy steaks and watching the magnificent sunsets.
The villa is situated in the mountains of rural Andalucia and is approached on the old roman road network . A dream for the walker, artist, birdwatcher, mountain biker or simply for those who wish to lounge in the sun with nothing more than a pile of books and a glass of wine. There is a large library of books, fiction, biography and autobiography, which should suit all tastes. There is also a wide selection of CDs and an iM310 Digital Speaker System for IPod and MP3 players.
Many other activities such as horse riding, water sports, taking a flight over the Sierras can be arranged through the owners. There are numerous excellent golf courses, the closest, Baviera Golf being visible from the villa and only 15 minutes drive away is a 27 hole competition course. The owners can be contacted if needed to iron out any problems either with the villa or to help with any other requirements. The villa will be cleaned weekly and all sheets and towels changed. An in house catering service is available for those who wish to eat at the cortijo without the hassle of cooking and washing up. A selection of menus are available on request.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
This sun-soaked stretch of the Spanish coastline in the Province of Malaga, bordering on the provinces of Seville, Cordoba and Granada is steeped in historic, artistic and natural heritage. Nestling in the foothills of the Sierra de Tejeda under the benign gaze of Mount Maroma the many white villages have been influenced and shaped by their Moorish past. The Cortijo is set amongst a network of Roman roads, which criss-cross this area of rural Spain allowing you to feel part of its history. Discover the magic of the Alhambra in Granada, visit the sensual and faintly decadent city of Seville, gaze into the stunning gorge at Ronda, or look in on the world famous rock apes of Gibraltar.
Velez Malaga / Arenas area
The area of Arenas village is home to the densest population of chameleons in Europe and is the mascot of the village. The village church still has its minaret from Moorish times and the ruins of the Castle of Bentomiz, which was one of the last to fall when the Christians invaded, can be seen from the villa. The village itself is a meadering maze of streets which still retains the magic and atmosphere of old Spain. The residents are warm and friendly and ever ready to offer help or advice.
The villa is within walking distance of the village which offers a bank with cashpoint, a supermarket, a chemist (24hours), numerous shops, bars, an internet facility, various bars, a local Bistro with excellent food and a pizzeria which has a take a away/delivery service, also a small local market on Wednesday. There is also a bus service to and from Velez Malaga on a daily basis.
Nearby Velez Malaga is a delightful historical town with ample shops and restaurants and an excellent open air market every Thursday. There is also a large shopping centre with a bowling alley next door. The Water Park is open during the summer months and offers an exciting day out at very reasonable prices.
Torre-del-Mar and Caleta have good clean beaches with many excellent chiringuitos and restaurants. A promenade runs along the Mediterranean coastline from Torre del Mar to the Marina at Caleta and is a pleasant walk or cycle ride. During the summer months there are market stalls, children's fun fairs and local open air entertainment. Sun lounges and parasols are available for hire on may parts of the beach. Nearby Go-Kart racing is also available again at very reasonable prices.
The nearby Caves of Nerja are only 25 minutes away and there are many drives up into the picturesque white villages of Competa, Frigliana, Periana and Comares.

Guided walks with a botanical expert can be pre/booked as well as private flights to view the Sierra Nevada and wonderful coastline of the area. For the more adventurous there is canoeing, wind-surfing, kayaking, horse riding, scuba diving and many more sports available, all of which can be arranged through the owner. Fishing trips are also possible at the nearby port of Caleta de Velez.
If you wish to visit the Alhambra in Granada it is neccesary to obtain tickets and these should be organised as soon as possible prior to your arrival through www.alhambratickets.com (Approximately 14 Euros). The wonderful city of Malaga is also worth a visit with the Pablo Picasso Foundation and Museum and its beautiful gardens.

Further details indoors: The lounge area is large and allows for free play of children, as is the pool deck and garden. The owners believe in the Spanish saying "children should be much loved, much seen and much heard".
A childs cot and high chair can be provided on request. An additional put-u-up can also be made available.
Further details outdoors: The swimming pool area is fenced from the garden allowing it to be closed off for the safety of children. It also has its own shower-room and toilet.

PLEASE NOTE;
The villa has an outdoor swimming pool (8x4) and is normally at its warmest between May to September. The pool may occasionally be unavailable due to essential maintenance.
The swimming pool will be closed for use from 09.00 a.m. on morning of departure.
Pets are allowed at the discretion of the owners
DEPARTURE
Guests are requested to leave the villa by 11.00 a.m. on day of departure, however if there are no new guests arriving on that day other arrangements can be made on request.
INSURANCE LIABILITY
We recommend that all guests have full and sufficient travel, personal accident, injury and medical expenses insurance. Cortijo Los Pinos accepts no liabilty for injury, damage, loss, vexation, distress, disappointment or irregularities suffered by the guest. Luggage, valuables and all other personal effects at all times and in all circumstances are at the guests risks,
PAYMENT
We will honour bookings for up to 14 working days, if a money transfer has not been made within this time the booking will be cancelled and the villa re-advertised unless otherwise agreed. If another enquiry is received we will contact the initial enquiry who will have priority over booking. Full details for payment can be found under "TARIFF".
Conditions
A returnable key and damage deposit of 200 Euros in cash is required on arrival. and will be refunded on day of departure.
Property has to be vacated by 11.00 am on day of departure and occupancy from 4.30 pm.
The swimming pool will be closed from 09.00 a.m. on day of departure to permit essential maintenance.

EASTER, CHRISTMAS and NEW YEAR. Please note that our tariff remains the same for these dates.
1. All dates will be confirmed and should another request for those dates be received the original request will be regarded as the priority booking.
2. Payment of 20% deposit to be made on confirmation of booking either by money transfer via bank/internet banking or credit card through PAYPAL, when paying by Paypal and additional 3.5% must be added to the rental rate. The balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to date of arrival.
The payment will be made in Euros to a Spanish Bank account.
3. If booking with less than 8 weeks prior to arrival payment should be made in full.
4. No extra for electricity, gas, an individual set of sheets, pillow cases, six towels, face cloth, shower mitt and swimming pool towel per person per week. Bath robes are also provided. Please bring your own beach towels.
5. A deposit against damage of 200 Euros must be paid in cash on arrival. This will be returned on morning of departure.
6. Discounts available for 3 weeks plus bookings in winter.
7. Welcome Pack on arrival.
8. Maid and laundry service available on request at an additional charge.

The one word I would chose to describe everything about this holiday from the initial enquiry to the meal cooked for us on our last night is QUALITY ~ all the way through. A rare find, a villa with nooks and crannies for everyone allowing lots of privacy or interaction. The house had everything we could want, books, games and wonderful extras for our baby daughter Grace. Amazing views and wonderful tranquility. May all your guests be as contented as we are!
