Our apartment is located in the village of Velez de Benaudalla, a traditional Spanish village. The surrounding area is ideal for walking, trekking and mountain biking as well as sunbathing.
Local shops, banks, supermarkets and great tapas cafe/bars within a minutes walk.. Golf is available within 15 minutes drive at Los Moriscas Golf Club. The famous Alhambra Palace is 45 minutes away.
The living accommodation is on 2 floors plus a roof terrace with views of the Sierra Nevada and the village Moorish fort. Access to the apartment is via stairs or lift from the private underground car park.
The development has nasrid style gardens and an outdoor shared swimming pool for use in the summer months. The apartment is situated within a secure gated complex.

The downstairs bedroom has one single bed and a set of bunks which are suitable for adults. En suite bathroom with bath, shower fitting basin and toilet.
Bedroom two is upstairs and has double bed. Both bedrooms have fitted wardrobes and hanging storage.

Linen and towels but not beach are provided.

25% deposit is payable on booking with the remainder due one month prior to arrival.
Payment can be made by direct credit transfer to either our UK or Spanish account or by paypal.
Apartment is strictly non smoking.
If our apartment does not show availabilty for the time you want please contact us as we can pass your details on to friends who may be prepared to rent.
For larger parties coming to the area we are able to sleep up to 10 people with the use of a friends apartment next door to ours (subject to their availability).

Costa Tropical is the name for the Mediterranean coastline of the province of Granada, Spain, in the heart of historical Andalucia. The Costa Tropical begins soon after passing the last towns in the Málaga province of Nerja and Maro, and begins with the fishing village of La Herradura on the border of the Granada province, and continues until passing the town of Castillo de Baños as you enter the Almería province.
It was, until recently, relatively unpopulated in comparison to the rest of the Spanish coast, mostly because of the ruggedness of the terrain. As one approaches the Costa Tropical from either Almería to the east or Málaga to the west, you will notice that the area looks less dry and more lush that the surrounding areas. This is because the Sierra Nevada mountain range that serves as a backdrop to the Costa Tropical catches more rain and thus supplies the area with abundant irrigation.
This same mountain backdrop provides a good shelter from northerlies and creates a pleasing “micro-climate” of very mild winters and mild summers compared to the interior of Spain, with temperature differences of 10 degrees Celsius relative to the area on the other side of the mountains – so it could be 38 degrees Celsius on a summer day in the city of Granada and only 28 degrees Celsius on the Costa Tropical. In the winter, it can be snowing in Granada and 10 degrees Celsius on the Costa Tropical.
It is a popular destination for Spanish summer holiday makers, and a popular year-round destination for northern European visitors, retirees, and full or part-time residents. In the past decades, smaller towns and less development lead to a frequent characterization of the Costa Tropical as “more Spanish”, more traditional, than its larger and more popular neighbor to the west, the Costa del Sol.
On weekends throughout the year, the Costa Tropical has always been a very popular destination for residents of the city of Granada. In the summer, it is a very popular destination for Spaniards throughout the country.
The Velez de Benaudalla / Las Terrazas del Jardin Nazari area
Velez de Benaudalla is an unspoiled gem the rest of the world is just beginning to discover. The friendly and outgoing people grow almonds, olives and vegetables in a privileged location just fifteen minutes from fantastic beaches in Salobreña, less than forty minutes to the centre of Granada and one hour from world class skiing near Granada.
Among the many things to see in this Costa Tropical town, one of the popular places is the Nazari Garden, which dates back to almost 500 years. It is considered as a poetic reminder that transforms into a beautiful paradise of aromas through the different flowers that blossom in different times of the year. Andalucia is in itself a beautiful garden and Velez de Benaudalla is just a part of it.
Since Velez de Benaudalla is situated right at the foot of the mighty Sierra de Lugar Mountain, it offers plenty of acitivites from walking, hiking, trekking to camping, mountain biking and rock climbing. As a result, it has become a popular destination in the recent years with expatriates. Another extremely popular sight is the 15th Century castle, which was restored in 1992 by the Ayuntamiento or the town hall. This castle is from the Arab period although many changes were made to the walls by subsequent rulers. The church of Velez de Benaudalla also known as La Iglesia del Rosario is one of the modern churches in Costa Tropical as compared to the other historical structures and dates back to the 18th century. It was designed by Ventura Rodríguez.
