A two bedroom house with Kitchen/Diner on ground floor with a nautical feel. The first floor has two good size bedrooms one with a double bed and the second with two single beds. There are built in Wardrobes in the bedrooms with a spacious attractive lounge which has a good view of the village. The bathroom has a shower, sink and toilet. It is a quiet village but is well placed for all kinds of activities including fishing, swimming, horse riding,discovering the Richard the Lionheart history, visiting Chateaus, local brocantes/fetes in the summer and loads more.

The master bedroom consists of a double bed, dressing table, Fitted wardroble and Video player. Very attractive white room overlooking small side street. The second bedroom has twin single beds with fitted wardrobe and dvd player. This room has a beautiful sunset view in the evening. It is very peaceful and is great on a sunny day. The spacious lounge is done in a musical theme with an attractive lemon decor and photographs of the area on the walls, with a comfortable two seater sofa and two leather chairs. This also is a very bright warm room. There is a dvd player in here as well. There are a good amount of dvds and videos to be hired from the owner on request reflecting all tastes for a small amount. There is a high chair but please request in advance if you need a cot. The lounge has a gas heater for no extra charge. Each bedroom has an electric heater.

There is a childrens play area nearby and swimming lakes with beaches within 8 kilometres. There is a church at the end of the road.
The house does not have a garden. The village has a hairdressers ,Butcher and two bakers and a post office. The nearest towns are Rochechouart and St Mathieu within 8 Km. The nearest large shopping area is St Junien or Limoges estimate 30 mins by car. Rochechouart is a friendly little town with cafes/restaurants and small quaint shops. This is where you will find the main banks and post office. There is also a lovely church and chateau here. Its 2-3hrs to coast and 2-3 hrs to mountains for skiing.

It is suitable for children but there are stairs so this is at parents own risk. Children under 5 can be accomodated but prior warning is needed to arrange for cot etc.
This is not a house for party people as it is in a quiet residential area but rather for people who wish to discover rural france independantly. You will need a car to get around for shopping etc. We can, if you are not car people pick you up at the airport for a fee but this would have to be arranged on booking.
The house does open directly on to the street so parents would need to be aware of this. However it is a nice house and an ideal holiday base. The proprietors are English speaking. There will be a small welcome pack provided.
Conditions
To be booked on a weekly basis however if there is availabilty long weekends or 2 - 3 weeks will be considered please ask at time of booking. A £50 per person non-returnable deposit will be required at time of booking by cheque in Euros or Sterling to the proprieter, the balance would need to be paid 3 weeks before arrival unless paying in cash at time of arrival . This can be paid in sterling or euros and a 5% discount will be allowed for cash. There is a refundable deposit of 100 euros in case of breakage, loss or damage. The difference will be returned as a balance but should the cost exceed 100 euros this will be expected to be paid before you leave. The charges will be fair and at our discretion. Please notify us if any special requirements.
The Limousin / Auvergne / Haute-Vienne region
Limousin is a pituresque region largely undiscovered. There are various lakes, Chateaus and historical sites. These include roman ruins, the Richard the Lionheart route and the place of his death Chalus. There is also a meteorite basin in Rochechouart area. It is easy to visit the Dordogne and other neighbouring regions.
There Is a very good Zoo in Limoges an Aquarium and of course the famous pottery/porcelain of Limoges.
In the summer months there are plenty of Brocantes Vide Greniers and Fetes around the regions which normally end with splendid firework displays. The climate is above 25 in the summer with occassional rain during 2011 it was an average of 30 degrees.
The Vayres area
The Fete is in August which people from surrounding areas visit. There is an ancient church close to the accomodation. It is very flat and suitable for cycling. There is a local rambling group once a week leaving from the town square. There is an authentic french pub. This is a very tranquil village with friendly residents a mixture of English, French, Australians and New Zealanders.
It is easy to walk around. They have functions at the salle de fete which can be anythings from dinners to theatre or art and craft displays/market.

Any over payment mistakes made by the holidaymakers is entirely at their own risk as there are no refunds through error made by the holidaymaker.
Refundable deposit on arrival of 100 Euros for any breakages , loss or damage per week.
There are no price hikes for school holidays. refundable deposit will be returned one week after date of last day and checks have been made.
Prices quoted is the price of the accomodation regardless of under or full occupancy.
