There is a bright open plan fully equipped kitchen and living room with a sofa bed, flat screen SAT TV and DVD. There is a double bedroom, a bathroom with shower, bidet, WC and a washing machine just outside the bathroom.

Outside, there is an outdoor-shared swimming pool with a patio surround for sunbathing and a small garden area above, a garage below and parking spaces.

The Lombardy / Lake Como Area

The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps. Warming, inspring and graced with natural beauty, the lakes are still a place to draw breath and wonder.

Lake Como, oriented north-south, ringed by characterful old villages often wedged onto narrow beaches between rugged cliffs and water.

Those classic lake images of flower strewn balconies, Baroque gardens and splendid waterside villas can be found here in abundance. Dotted around and between the lakes are some of Italy's finest art cities, such as Milan, Verona & Bergamo.

Varenna / Perledo area

Varenna is one of the most picturesque towns on the lake, its steep winding alleys lined with charming homes, flowering Geraniums cascading over the balconies and lace-curtained windows. Just above Varenna there is the ancient Castello Vezio where Theodolinda, Queen of the Lombards, is said to have died in the 7th century. Two famed villas to visit here in Varenna are Villa Cipressi, with terraced gardens cascading right down to the lakeshore, and Villa Monastero, a true garden showcase.

Varenna dates from the 5th century where you can still see in places the original Roman layout of the town: a geometric design, which allows wonderful views of the lake. The reds, terracottas and yellows of its houses, its mild climate and the olive and cypress trees make you wonder whether you are not 200 km further south. By contrast, winter in Varenna is exhilarating; clear blue skies and snow-capped mountains make for exceptional scenery.

Varenna is very convenient for skiing in the resorts of Italy and Switzerland. The delightful resort Madesimo, north of Chiavenna is only 1.15 hours away by car. Perhaps you would like to drive 1.30 hr to St. Moritz or catch a train from Varenna Esino station.

Nearby Varenna is the shortest river in Italy and one with most enticing name, Fiumelatte (River of Milk). Leonardo da Vinci was quite perplexed by the river as he and countless others failed to find its source. It runs for only 250m with this short distance and the degree of descent, gives it a white milky appearance. The river mysteriously dries up in the middle of October and re-appears suddenly in the second half of March!

Cleaning Costs.
There is a final cleaning cost of €70 when staying for one week & €90 when staying for two weeks with all bed-linen & towels included. If staying for two weeks or more – the bed-linen & towels will be refreshed after each week. All utility usage such as water, electricity & gas, are included in the rental price.

Short Breaks.
3 night break - 40% off weekly tariff / 4 night break - 30% off weekly tariff / 5 night break - 20% off weekly tariff / 6 night break - 10% off weekly tariff

We offer a range of facilities, which are available for hire through our office ‘Happy Holiday Homes’ in Menaggio:

Payments by Credit/Debit Card & Wire Transfer.
There are no additional charges for credit or debit card payments. However, all bank transfer fees are the responsibility of the sender.

To make a confirmed booking, you will be asked to fill in our booking form online and pay a 30% deposit. The remaining balance will then be due 6 weeks before arrival.
