We had a great fortnight here, and were made very welcome by our hosts, Martin and Gill. The house was spotlessly clean, very well-equiped and the bedrooms very spacious. We loved eating in and in the grounds. The surrounding woodland, that belongs to the property, was great for our children (8-16y) to explore safely on their own, with lovely days spent on/in the lake too! Locally, we found the fantastic baker, lots of great supermarkets, markets, an indoor pool with slides, a few good beaches and lots of art exhibitions and little museums. We all had a wonderful holiday. |

We had a lovely, relaxing family holiday in Le Cleyo. The accomodation is in an ideal location for a varied family holiday with pretty grounds to the property, easy driving distance from beautiful local towns, great beaches nearby and a warm welcome from Gill and Martin. Highly recommendable! |

‘We had a fantastic time staying at Le Cleyo, the living space was ideal for our family with two small children under 3 and Martin and Gill were great hosts. The cottage is in a quiet, picturesque setting which was ideal for us when looking for somewhere to relax. Local amenities are only a short drive away, with a large supermarket that has everything you’ll need if you plan to eat in on an evening as we did most nights. If there is one trip to take with the children it has to be the safari park in Branfere – a great day out.’

"The property is finished to a high standard with ample space. Furniture and beds are very comfortable and Le Cleyo had satellite TV which was useful for the world cup and Wimbledon. An old period buiding, Le Cleyo has thick stone walls which kept the interior cool during a very warm two weeks in early June. The property is in a quiet rural valley, by the River Claie which flows into a shallow mill pond directly in front of the Gite, but close to the motorway for easy access to Vannes and Rennes. The owners live on site and are very helpful if you need to ask for advice about facilities in the immediate area. For those interested in walks or cycling there are a many quiet country roads free from traffic, and cycle- ways in the area. The local town of Malestroit is very pretty with some excellent and reasonably priced menus. Most of the towns and villages in the area retain their medieval centres and many are either close to the sea or in picturesque river valleys. I have visted France for almost twenty years and this is by far one of the best holidays we have spend in the Country not least because of the friendly welcome offered by Martin and Gill. We would plan to stay here in the future.

We had a fantastic holiday at Le Cleyo! What did we like most - hard to
decide - but it would have to include the warm welcome from Gill & Martin;
the beauty of the setting - near enough to the main road to get everywhere
easily, but the road far enough away to be hidden and not audible; the
lovely lake and river outside the front door; room for our girls to play in
the woods; beautiful medieval towns within an easy drive; a very relaxed way
of life all around us; a lovely holiday home with everything we needed
(including space). What more can I say than to thank our hosts for all of
the care and attention they put into creating a first rate place for a
holiday!

This is our second visit to Le Cleyo and we had a wonderful and peaceful week away from the hustle and bustle in a beautiful setting. Seven days of total relaxation in an environment with no noise except the lull of the river nearby. With all amenities within easy reach, it is perfectly positioned for a family holiday. It was lovely for our little girl to play with the rope swings, run in the woods, and row on the pond with my wife and I. We had a very warm welcome from the owners, who ensured we had everything we needed. The beach is within driving distance, and there are some stunning historic towns within easy reach.
I highly recommend it for those who are wishing to escape for a lovely holiday in a unique setting.

Le Cleyo is a lovely house and in a marvellous, tranquil setting. All three of us really appreciated the house and surroundings. I have lots of photos and will certainly recommend your gite to friends and family. We hope to return sometime and would be more than happy to stay at your gite.

We first visited the gite Le Cleyo in 2005 and had such a fantastic holiday that we returned this year in 2006. The gite and its location are idyllic and very beautiful and Martin, Gill, and their lovely daughter Hannah are the
perfect hosts with whom we have become good friends. Special mention to Meg who is quite simply the loveliest dog we have ever come across. The lake, mill pond, and the river add that special touch to the gite and we will certainly be returning to holiday there again in the future.
