The Brittany / Morbihan region

There are numerous activities to enjoy both arround the millhouse and further afield.

For children there is swimming, fishing and boating in the millpond, hide and seek in the surrounding countryside and 'Swalllow and Amazon' adventures along the riverbank.

There are lovely local walks, an abundance of wildlife (we have otters, herons, kingfishers and trout), and a tranquility to be envied.

Cycle along the Voie Verte a dedicated cycle route which meanders for miles through the surrounding countryside, or follow the towpath along the Canal de Oust complete with colourful canal barges and locks.

Further afield visit the monoliths at Carnac, there are days out at dinosaur and adventure parks, explore Merlins castle or enjoy a visit to a wildlife farm.

The nearby Lac de Duc with its own beach and recreational area is a huge freshwater lake at Ploermel (10 mins) with facilities for water skiing, wind surfing, boating, tennis and a superb golf course.

For days by the sea in secluded sandy coves or walks along rugged coastline the Golfe de Morbihan is within an easy 15 minutes drive.

Vannes area

Freshly baked baquettes and the local tabac are only 2 minutes away in Bohal.

Malestroit, a beautiful medieval riverside town with its excellent shops and restaurants is just 4 miles away.

Always bustling, the market town of Questembert is only 7 miles away.

The historic sea port of Vannes complete with ancient castle and battlements and the beautiful beaches of the Golfe de Morbihan are only 15 minutes away.

How to get there

Tucked away in its own valley the millhouse is minutes from the main road between Rennes and Vannes.

The channel ports are all within easy reach. St Malo the nearest port is under two hours away.

Newly furnished throughout, the property features twin veranda doors leading onto a balcony above the millpond and a lovely secluded patio garden complete with brick built barbeque and outdoor seating.

All three bedrooms have windows opening out onto the millpond and have wondeful views of the surrounding countryside.

The ground floor living area is open plan with a huge fireplace and veranda doors leading out onto the balcony. There is comfortable seating for up to eight around the huge farmhouse table.

Traditionally french, the kitchen with newly fitted appliances, has all the facilities for you to prepare anything from quick meals to french cuisine.

The millhouse is surrounded by open beautiful upspoilt countryside and woodlands.

Sit in the patio garden and relax with a glass of local wine and watch the river idle lazily by.

Change over day is Sunday after 4pm during high and mid season but is negotiable outside these times. During low season, long and short breaks and discount for smaller groups are available. Prices include electricity (except in low season), gas, and bed linen but exclude fire wood (available on request). Please bring towels and cot linen if required.

A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance is payable 8 weeks prior to arrival.
