The British Columbia region

ABOUT BC
British Columbia is famous for its expansive mountains, with lush old coniferous forests, its glacial rivers, and its mazes of islands. We enjoy a mild climate all year-round.
The Vancouver / Deep Cove area
ABOUT VANCOUVER
Vancouver is a paradise city for visitors. The parks, the trees, the beautiful bike trails, the beaches, the forests, and the ever-present mountains that cast their beauty all over the city. The lifestyle, the kind, easy-going people, the multicultural atmosphere.
You can access everything so easily from our convenient location. Organic cafes and restaurants, arts, fashion and music, shopping, entertainment, and so much to see and do. These are only some of the reasons Vancouver is widely considered the best city in the world to live in and visit.
ABOUT DEEP COVE
We are at the foot of 2 pristine provincial parks, on the South facing slopes of the coastal mountains which catches the best of the sun and ocean views.
At the end of our street you will find the charming little neighborhood centre of Deep Cove; a cluster of friendly restaurants, cafes, gift shops, kayak rentals, and a community cultural centre with gallery and stage for music, dance and theater. Enjoy a stroll through panoramic park, beaches, trails, and marina boardwalks. All of this, surrounded in the glorious landscape of islands, forests, and serene ocean.
The beautiful Baden Powell trail can be accessed just steps away from eagle's nest, which leads you through majestic Douglas Fir forest and over gurgling streams, up to 'the rock'; a clearing high above Indian Arm Inlet where eagles soar over this magnificent spacious landscape.
Our local mountains offer world class recreation facilities, including snow sports, mountain biking, hiking, climbing, fishing, golfing, winter Olympic venues, and more. Popular sight-seeing spots include a gondola and suspension bridge, and there are plenty of shops, and restaurants with excellent cuisine from around the world. All of these can be reached within a 10 minute drive from Eagles Nest.
We also have easy access to the sea to sky highway which leads through absolutely stunning mountain and ocean views to the world-famous 2010 Olympic snow sports park at Whistler & Blackcomb Mountains, about 1.5 hours away.
Come and surround yourself in the breathtaking beauty of this incredible place!

We will be glad to help you find your way here when you book your stay. In the meantime, here are some recommendations.
By public transport: We are only a block away from a major bus route that runs straight to and from Vancouver. To find public transit information independently, we recommend the translink site (http://www.translink.bc.ca). Start by entering the name of the place you want to start your journey in the "trip planning" section (e.g. "airport - yvr") . Then in the destination field ("To:" ), enter the number "59518", which is the number of the closest bus stop to us. Translink can also guide you over the phone on (+001 for Canada) (604) 953-3333.
The new "Millenium Line" Skytrain which is part of the Translink system is the quickest, cheapest, and easiest way to get between Vancouver and Vancouver International Airport.
By Car:
We enjoy a very quick, simple, convenient and scenic commute to and from Vancouver. Travel times to and from Downtown Vancouver usually range from 15 minutes to 30 minutes depending on traffic conditions.
From Vancouver, head Northbound on Highway No. 1, over the Second Narrows Bridge. Take the first exit at the North end of the bridge (Exit 23B) which leads onto Dollarton Highway. Continue Eastbound along Dollarton all the way into deep cove which is the end of the line.
We will be very happy to help you find your way around, and discuss the finer details of our location when you make your booking.

Our sports team stayed at Eagle's Nest for an entire week instead of staying at a hotel. We loved the view and the peacefulness of the house and the relaxing feeling to the area. We had 2 super meals downtown, and were even treated to some of the infamous donuts. Every day there were boats on the water below to watch. It was a rainy week in January while we were there, but we enjoyed the big bright windows and being inside the cozy house. The owners were friendly, welcoming, and provided us with whatever supplies we needed throughout the week. A very comfortable place to call "home"! |

This is a great spot for all kinds of families and vacations. It has a nice spacious family area for gathering, eating and unwinding. Lots of sleep options and a view that is worth the trip. It is nearby the little twon of Deep Cove and minutes away from Mount Seymour. Our stay was in January and we should have forewarned the owner that we wanted to use the outdoor hottub since it wasnot ready to use when we arrived. Owners were great and bvery accomodating. It is definitely on my recommend list. |

Eagle's Nest was our sanctuary for deep relaxation. From the hot tub to the majestic mountain and water views, we felt a sense of renewal we had not experienced in years! I tried reading a book on the deck and found myself seduced by the gentle sounds of the mountain stream putting me fast asleep. The ravens and eagles entertained us with their calls of the wild and acrobatic fly-bys. For dinning we enjoyed a five minute stroll down to the village to choose between elegant four course meals to deliciously mouth watering sushi with cold sake, to the simple but delicate tastes of home made pizza by the slice or round. Over time we tried them all and savored every bite. After dinner we would stroll through the waterside park or through the marina wondering what it would be like to have a month off to explore the mountains and shoreline beaches and coves by kayak or sailboat. We would return back to the “Nest” and the warmth of the fire place, check our emails, and then call it a day. Sleeping was like curling up on a cloud and then awakening to the fresh mountain air and sunshine vistas from the master bedroom. Inspiration comes very easily here. After a few days bathing in nature and relaxation, we left our retreat for an afternoon of shopping on Grandville Island and a night on the town in Vancouver. With Vancouver only twenty minutes a way we were tempted to explore more of Stanley Park and other sights but found it difficult to leave the serenity of our mountain retreat. It was hard to leave this abundance of nature and beauty behind but knowing we will be back to explore more of the nearby mountain trails and maybe take a kayak trip or two, made our departure a little easier. Enjoy! Response: What a delight to read your review. These are many of the reasons that we love living here in Deep Cove ourselves, the mountain air is so clean and invigorating. There are no end of logs for the fire with all the wonderful crackle and radiant heat to warm you. Nice to come back to after adventures or a soak in the hot tub outside, or the jacuzzi inside. Next time, we agree that kayaking is a great experience. 10km of fjord and so many islands and beaches to explore from the kayak rental here in the cove is heaven. It was lovely to see your little dog enjoy the safety of the enclosed deck and the beautiful trails in the woods and parks. Do come back again and enjoy more rejuvenation. Deanna |

"Better than any Picture can Convey
What a place !!!. We arrived in the pitch black, to find the house lit up and the door open and everything ready a promised. We spent a glorious 12 days in the Eagles Net from 1st to 12th of October, 2008 and we had a fantastic time with the views, sights sounds and frequent visits from Chili the next door neighbors German Shepherd which was a delight as she is so friendly and kept the kids from pining for their own dogs back home.
The house as superb, the hot tub a joy after the "Hike" to the end of the Baden Powell trail only 50m from the house and well worth the climb.
To awake every morning with that view over he mountains, lake and hear the 'woop' of the train as it passes off in the distance and the call of the jays as they argue over their latest find in the garden is wonderful, and especially as we had just come from the smog of Las Vegas after the first part of our long vacation was a truly fresh breath of air.
Everything you need for cooking, relaxing and just chillin' is right there in the house, and it truly is a home from home, and we'll be back sooner rather than later. Everywhere we went we were greeted with warmth and s,iling hello's from everyone, so well done Vancouver, Deanna and Kevin. A real gem that needs to be kept secret from all but a few select visitors."

" Dear Deanna and Paul, Absolutely loved the Villa, the sight was out of this world. Waking up every morning to see such a sight was breath-taking. We will miss it, but we had a wonderful time. The forest walk was an experience, we met so many nice people ad dogs along the way. It is a trek worth doing. The view from the rock was amazing. The visit to Victoria was long but worth it. The children loved the visit to The World Museum and Granville Island. We also visited Surrey, some family of ours, which was also very enjoyable. Capilano Suspension bridge was our favourite, we had so much fun. Most of all we loved the Villa, it was everything that we desired. And Deanna, you were so helpful and welcoming, it made our stay even better. Your hospitality was overwhelming, it is so nice to meet someone like you. I also noticed that all the people we met, tourist and non-tourist, are so friendly. Thank you and take care, S**** family (U. K.)"

"Deanna and Paul, The house is great! We really enjoyed our stay-very relaxing and peaceful. As for restaurants, the “Arms Reach Bistro” at the bottom of the hill serves the best food. We recommend going to the Vancouver Art Gallery along with the Museum of Anthropology. The views are wonderful from the house. This is the perfect setting, facing the ocean and mountains, as well as a short drive away from all of the attractions found in sophisticated Vancouver. Deanna is such a thoughtful hostess. Everything is so well stocked. We have stayed a week and want to move in. Please don’t tell anyone about this gem. When the word gets out we will have to reserve a year in advance. Looking forward to coming back. Thanks, Brooks and Tom"

"The meteor display was incredible last night. I relaxed deeply into the wonder of the universe. Every year at this time the Earth spins and burns up millions more ‘shooting stars’ we have magic in the sky better than any firework display. Utter genius. It is eternal. I only put aside perhaps one hour a year to open this gift. Funny really. So many wonderful spectacles that we can view near and far from here. Warm sun gently wakes me here on the deck which is private, safe, quite, and bug-less. Perfect temperature. Early kayakers below make ripples on the lake-like ocean. Humming birds hover above me, blue jays swoop and many birds come that I do not know the names of. The mattresses from the benches are very comfortable here on the deck. I have breakfast in bed, al fresco, and muse at future plans of painting, photography, and design, and feeling that wild rush of creativity. Everything is possible. The pines add a hint of freshness to the ozone rich air. I will come back for more. Oh, and the Jacuzzi jets were great on my back last night."
