Fabulous views, peace and quiet, yet only 30 minutes walk from the village.??
Newly refurbished in a rustic style this property offers the ideal location for relaxing holidays for both couples and families. Located in a stunningly beautiful area with many opportunities for walking, cycling and bird watching, exploring local villages with their Moorish architecture and plentiful tapas bars or simply lazing away your days next to the pool.
The spacious living/dining room forms a central hub to the house with all other rooms opening off. The comfortable sofas, log-burner, ceiling fan and air-conditioning make this a welcoming space during the intense midday heat of summer as well as a cosy retreat for winter evenings. Available for your entertainment are Sky TV, DVD Player, Wi and wifi.
?The kitchen opens off via an archway and is fully equipped with electric oven, 4 ring gas hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer and dishwasher. Plentiful crockery and cutlery plus many extras such as sandwich toaster and chocolate fountain enable you to prepare anything from a quick snack to a lavish dinner.
The master bedroom is comfortably furnished with double bed and has french windows out onto an east facing patio/balcony which overlooks the pool. A small table and 2 chairs allow you to enjoy a morning coffee in this sun trap whilst steps lead directly onto the pool should you fancy an early morning dip. The luxurious, tiled en-suite bathroom with jacuzzi bath, wc and wash basin is the perfect place to pamper yourself, relaxing into the hot foamy bubbles by candle light.
The second bedroom is light and airy, again with double bed but also having a single truckle bed under, should you require it. The family bathroom has a roomy shower cubicle, wc and washbasin.
Outside is a shady dining area, conveniently located for the kitchen, whilst steps lead down to the pool terrace which is gated to prevent unsupervised child access. Around the pool with its underwater lighting are sun beds with parasols and a built in barbecue. Why not spend the afternoon relaxing in the sun whilst taking in the amazing views, pick yourself a lemon from the tree to slice into a sundowner then linger around the barbecue until late into the evening!?

The Andalucia region
Andalucia is the southermost region of Spain with sunshine 300 days a year. With beaches, mountains and historical cities it really does offer something for everyone.
The moorish village of Valor perches on the foothills of the Sierra Nevada gazing out over the valley and the market town of Ugijar. An unspoilt traditional Spanish village popular with spanish tourists. Situated two hours from Granada (the Alhambra Palace is truely unmissable) and one hour from the coast, culture, countryside, beaches and skiing are all within easy reach.
With a population of just under 1000, the village has 9 bars all of which serve tapas and a couple of which offer a full menu. There are also 2 small supermarkets, one with it's own bakery, which sell all essentional shopping items including fresh meat, fruit and veg. The travelling market visits on the 4th and 19th of every month with a few stalls selling clothing, plants, nuts & olives etc. For a wider range of shops and a bustling twice monthly market (5th and 20th), the town of Ugijar is just 10 kilometers away. The village pool is open during the months of July and August and there are numerous fiestas throughout the year, the largest of these being Moors and Christians in September when the villagers re-enact the taking of the Alhambra complete with horses and musket fire.
You are surrounded by magnificent views of the Sierra Nevada and Contraviersa mountain ranges with numerous opportunities for walking and mountain biking on your doorstep. For the more adventurous, Mulhacen is close at hand.
Try visiting a local vineyard, take a walking tour, hire a mountain bike, visit the historical city of Granada, explore the local villages or simply while away your time relaxing by the pool!
Popular with Spanish tourists but as yet relatively undiscovered by other nationalities, Valor is an extremely friendly pueblo blanco and an ideal place to observe and enjoy the traditional Spanish way of life.

"Tranquility...just what we were looking for"
We were looking for peace and quiet with a small villa for two with our own pool. What we got was a beautiful villa with two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge. Even though we had read all the information prior to booking it still exceeded our expectations. It was also completely spotlessly clean. The view down the valley was amazing.
Due to the fantastic weather we spent most of our time lazing round the pool which was in the sun all day although there were plenty of shady spots to sit when it got too hot. We tried a few restaurants in Valor and were made to feel welcome at each one despite the fact that neither of us spoke more than a few words of Spanish. Terry and Ginny were always available to help out if there was a need but they were also discreet which we were grateful for. We visited the coast a few times and found it an easy journey. We felt we had the best of both worlds, the serenity of the mountains and the sea just a drive away. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

"Idyllic retreat in the Sierra Nevada"
We initially stayed for a month in January with my parents and our dog, we loved it so much we returned for another 3 weeks in April. It is a real home from home, with the benefit of good weather, fresh mountain air, and magnificent views.
