About the home
At the entrance of the Gorge of Ardèche, Vallon-Pont-d?Arc is a French tourist destination well known for its prehistoric interest, dramatic landscapes and traditional villages.
The famous Pont d?Arc, designated site of special natural interest, and the natural gorges are the great attraction of the region. The Pont d'Arc is a great limestone bridge carved out by the river Ardèche, near the town of Vallon-Pont-d'Arc. This is an incredible natural feature where the rushing waters of the river Ardèche have eaten away at a wall of rock resulting in a kind of tunnel or rock arch over the river. There are great views from the several small car parks alongside the main road. The bridge has a width of 60 m and a height of 45 m and canoeing under the arch is a very popular activity.
