The Island of Malta region
The climate of Malta is basically Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild winters. During the summer months (May to September) there is little rain, there are between 10 and 12 hours of sunshine daily and temperatures average 23.5C. Throughout the year towns and villages all over Malta celebrate festivals in honour of their local patron saint, these events are really a great spectacle for all who visit Malta. Malta has something to offer all age groups from the hip and trendy St Julians to the more sedate and cultural setting of Valletta.Theophile Gautier once stated and I quote " And I shall settle, For age makes me somewhat weary, On Malta's white terraces between blue sky and blue seas". Discover, enjoy and you will return.
Valletta / Central Valletta area
Valleta, capital of the Republic of Malta, is strategically situated on the Sciberras peninsula on Malta's north-east coast, surrounded by what are surely the most powerful fortifications in the world. Malta's capital Valletta is the seat of government, with parliament, the Supreme Court, government offices and other institutions. It is also the country's cultural centre with numerous operatic and dramatic performances and concerts. Valletta has an atmosphere all of it's own and the visitor will find many fine restaurants, open air cafes and good quality shopping in abundance. Valletta is a historic city and as such there are many interesting places to visit including the Royal Opera House, St Johns Cathedral, the Grand Master's Palace, Fort St Elmo and the National War Museum. A must for any visitor is a boat trip around the Grand Harbour and Marsamxett Harbour and if you time it right you may be lucky enough to enjoy one of the numerous firework displays whilst cruising the harbours.
How to get there
There are numerous daily flights from the UK leaving from Gatwick, Heathrow, Manchester, Bristol and most other regional airports. Air Malta operate frequent flights from most European countries as well as British Airways, Easyjet. AirOne and Ryan Airways which all fly to Malta.
There is a regular bus service running from the Airport to Valletta or there is a good taxi service taking about 15 mins to reach Valletta. Car hire from the Airport would be another option.

Hello Ian, just wanted to send you a quick mail to say a very big 'thank you" - The apartment was perfect! It was truly central, and we loved the open concept..and the shower was fantastic - A small room in itself! Everything was just so charming, we still have smiles on our faces.... We loved the contrast of the old stone entry and stairwell with the contemporary interior. We are already planning our next trip to Valletta in the autumn some time and hope to re-book Felix Street.
