Home description
The restoration of “Palazzetto Citta" made it possible to create four spacious apartment suites, within total respect of the original structure and functions of the house, but also respecting your privacy as well as providing the full intimacy and warmth of your own home. The property is grand but relaxed and the romantic ambiance is noticed the moment one walks through the original 17th century door. We have recently been singled out by the Malta Tourism Authority for the sympathetic restoration and excellence of product.
A unique experience to share in the day to day living within an authentic 16/17th century “Maison de Ville” which has been lovingly restored to its former glory over the past five years, after several years of abandon and neglect.
The “Patron”’ of the house has opened the house to a few select guests wishing to relive the splendor of Valletta’s glorious past. A totally new concept in Maltese hospitality not unlike Riyadhs in Morocco, Paradores in Spain and Posadas in Portugal, offering a high end lodging alternative to hotel accommodation in Malta.
The ' San Gwann ' suite is on the first floor and is one of four each of which has its own distinctive character. Should the apartment be full we would be happy to recommend a suitable alternative within the same Palazzo, ranging from a junior suite to a luxurious penthouse.
I00 meters from San Gwann Square the main square of Valletta, the Valletta fruit and vegetable market, food stores and 10 minutes from Malta's main bus terminal. A 10 minute ferry ride takes you to Sliema/St Julians ( ferry landing 15 minutes walk ).
The apartment is brand new and operations started on April 1st 2009.
Large Sitting room comfortably furnished
Cutting edge Italian designed kitchen
Brand new en suite
Fluffy bath robes and towels

The Island of Malta region
The Mediterranean's best kept holiday secret has made a comeback in recent years and is once more a favourite holiday destination offering a blend of cosmopolitan and traditional backed by a wealth of cultural heritage that makes the Maltese archipelago appear so much larger then its actual size.
Sea, sun, excellent restaurants, trendy shops and the unmistakeable Maltese hospitality are a constant attraction.
Visit during the summer months if you enjoy the merry making of village fiestas ( a different one every week starting June ) or during the winter months for a more relaxed tempo. Winters in Malta are very mild and the countryside abounds with colourful wild flowers.

Valletta / Central Valletta area
Up till a few years ago Valletta was off the beaten track or even shunned by most visitors who came simply to soak up the sun. Discerning travellers have however discovered the beauty and charm of this UNESCO world heritage sight - so much history condensed in a peninsula barely 5 square kilometres. A city which has seen kings, emperors, poets and painters, come and go as it stands aloof on a hill enclosed within its fortifications.
What is there to see - magnificent St John's Cathedral and Museum with the largest painting Caravaggio ever painted, the Manoel theater, Europe's oldest functioning theatre, the Grand Masters' Palace and armory - the list is never ending.
Valletta is also the hub and interconnection point for all buses be it to the Medieval capital Medina, Malta's beaches or Sliema and St Julians if you enjoy night-life. Getting around the island could not be easier and you certainly do not need car hire if you elect to spend your holidays in Malta's Capital city. Sliema can also be reached by a 10 min ferry service.
Pavement cafe's along Republic street, a favourite promenading street for the Maltese with its trendy shops, breathtaking views from the Baracca Gardens, gourmet restaurants - you will need good walking shoes.
