Valencia is a beautiful region with a generous Mediterranean climate and even in winter it can be clear and sunny. Also renowned for fantastic nightlife and wonderful party spirit and with 2007's America's Cup taking place here it has left a real sense of excitement and passion.
With the port and beautiful sandy beaches of Malvarrosa and Las Arenas within striking distance the city provides the setting for the European Formula 1 Grand Prix from August 2008. . Really a brilliant place for a weekend break but to get to know the city relax and stay a while longer. The City of Valencia is one of Spain’s hidden gems. A beautiful city, compact and so easy to get around, yet full of stunning Gothic Architecture combined with the futuristic city of Arts & Science.
It has so much to do during the day, is a fabulous shopping experience and has one of the best night lifes in Spain. Valencia has a vast choice of Restaurants and Bars ranging from excellent up market restaurants to very inexpensive tapas bars.
Our apartment will contain comprehensive information to help you enjoy Valencia to the full. The following are a must during your stay.
Oceanographic Park (10 mins walk from the Apartment). The largest in Europe with 45,000 species of fish including sharks and whales. Do not miss the Dolphin Show!! Fabulous minimum ½ day for Adults and children.
Bio-Park – A zoo without cages! Animals can be seen in their natural habitat separated from viewers by eco-friendly moats and natural fences: A stunning experience for at least ½ a day.
Turia Gardens - 8 kilometres of gardens,sports areas and cycle paths only 500 metres from the apartment.
La Lonja – Built in the XV century it is one of the foremost Gothic buildings in Europe and is the old silk exchange.
Central Market – One of the most beautiful market places in Europe. 959 market stalls selling the best quality fresh food.
Colon Market – A Spanish National Monument and a fine representation of modern architecture.
Palau de Musica – The headquarters of the orchestra of Valencia and one of the most important musical centres of Spain. The most prestigious orchestras and the most renowned conductors and performers have played here (10 mins walk from the apartment).
Plaza de la Virgin and Plaza de la Reina. Two beautiful and bustling squares separated by Valencia’s Cathedral and surrounded by some of Valencia’s most important architecture not to mention hundreds of restaurants, bars and cafes. (5 mins by taxi or metro from the apartment).
Information on these and MANY, MANY other places of interest will be found in the apartment including the nearby blue flag beaches of Las Arenas and La Malvarrosa and how to enjoy Valencia by bicycle.
There are world class events to base your stay around! These include:- Las Fallas in March – an exciting week of fireworks, fires and celebrations – voted one of the 5 best events in the world.
Semana Santa in March. – a week of pageantry and celebration
Formula 1 GP in August
Americas Cup sailing – dates to be finalized. The richest sporting event in the world!
Moto GP in October –a must for the motor cycle enthusiasts.
How to get there
The property is approximately 10 km from Valencia Internationa Airport (VLC) which is serviced by most Budget Airlines and it should take less than 20 minutes by taxi at a cost of around 20 euros.
You can also get to the apartment by Metro direct from the airport. Take the Green Line (Number 5) from the airport direct to Amistat Station. The apartment is 10 minutes walk from Amistat Station.
The main Valencia railway station is less than 10 minutes by taxi or Metro from the apartment.
