The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Valencia Province region
Valencia enjoys a Mediterranean climate so that even in winter the days are mostly bright and sunny. It is renowned for its exuberant nightlife and party spirit and since the America's Cup took place in 2007 ithere has been a real sense of excitement and buoyancy.
The port and broad sandy beach of Malvarrosa are within easy striking distance of the city and will provide the setting for the Grand Prix in August 2008. In 2009 the America's Cup returns. It's a great place for a weekend break but a longer stay provides an opportunity to really get to know the city.
Valencia / Valencia City Centre area
As the apartment is so centrally located, walking in any direction will bring you to places of interest. Turn left out of the front door heading south towards Plaza de la Ayuntamiento with its splendid main post office and beyond the modernista Estacion del Norte; or west, across Calle San Vicente where every procession seems to pass, you’ll find the central market, one of the largest in Europe. Opposite the market is La Lonja the elegant medieval silk exchange.
A short step north takes you to Plaza de la Reina, crammed with outdoor cafes and dominated by the cathedral. Moving on from there you reach barrio del Carmen, the hub of the city’s nightlife. Turn right from the apartment and round the corner to the east is the exuberant Palace de Dos Aguas which houses the ceramics museum, over the top boutiques, and the old university building leading on to the main shops on Calle Colon.

We had a great time in Valencia. The apartment is very comfortable and the location is perfect. We will happily recommend it to other travellers. Thank you for the travel guides, maps and good advice on Valencia shopping.
