Guestbook for Apartment in Ruzafa, Valencia
Appreciation Aug 2010, LC, London Great Russel Street
We really enjoyed our visit to Valencia and loved the apartment. The description given in advance was a good and accurate one – it was lovely and bright, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable and homely. It was also very quiet and peaceful, just what we wanted. The only problem was that Spanish cities are so hot in August and the 15 to 20 minute walk to the old town was a bit tiring – but this didn’t matter too much as the bus service was so good.
We wanted somewhere where we could cook and the kitchen was perfect in this respect – all the equipment you could want and the Mercadona supermarket just around the corner – and the market hall just a block or so away with wonderful fresh fish, fruit and vegetables.
It was interesting to stay in a proper neighbourhood, rather than a tourist centre, and the area is full of good bars and restaurants – we particularly enjoyed the Asturian restaurant, the food was great. It was nice to be able to just go around the corner after a long day sightseeing, rather than having to head into the city centre.
We have travelled extensively in Span, but hadn’t been to Valencia before – I would recommend it to everyone, it is just so beautiful and there is so much to do – and the apartment is in a good spot to explore it from.
The information you gave us in advance was very helpful – the only thing I would add would be to give some information about where the bus stops are in Rusafa and the city centre.
Warm regards
Carol and Siobhan

"The apartment is easy to find, clean, large, bright, quiet, nicely decorated and very convenient. It is in a lively neighbourhood of Ruzaffa. The kitchen is perfectly equipped!!! In the neighbourhood is a large, well equipped supermarket and there is the Mercado Rusaffa with fresh fish and vegatables. The location of the apartment is situated very well. You can do everything by feet (to the Oceanografic as well to the Museum Belle Artes). And to go out in the evening there are several very cosy restaurants and bars (just a few steps away)!!! When you are 4 persons, two have to sleep in room on a couch, which might be a little inconvenient. On the background the sound of the elevator and sewerpipes (but you get used to it)."
