Excellent tapas bars, restaurants and uber-trendy late night bars/ in cosmopolitan El- Carmen just 8 minutes direct walk away make exploring this city a real pleasure. Enjoy its culture, good recreation and healthy Mediiterranean lifestyle.
Glorious long fine golden 'Blue flag' sandy beaches easily accessed from (Maverossa) - good safe swimming beach 15mins metro L4. El Saler* 40mins - bus. Take note* of safety flag flying due to inshore currents etc - Great cycle tracks parallel beach & 25km of beautiful country cycling besides the River Turia - a pleasure anytime of the year.
You really will find Valencia most surprising and enchanting with it's great combinations and with ease and value of getting there. This has to be the year to visit.... Why push & shove & pay over the odds elsewhere for considerably less value?
The vibrant and cosmopolitan 'Centro Historica & Carmen' is an easy 7-8 min's walk along the Calle Almazora direct to the Cathedral encircled by it's two fine marbled Plazas. Further onwards the main Plaza Ajuntamiento with its grand belle epoque styled C.19 buildings - another 6/7 minutes. The Palau Dos Agua's, a splendid C.18 marbled/alabaster encrusted Palace built for the Marquis de Dos Aquas; now the museum of fine Valenciano ceramics.
Museu de Bellas Artes with El Greco, Goya and Valencian artists Sorolla and Pinazo amongst other Internationally renowned Spanish painters just 4/5 min's walk away..
For modern art the impressive IVAAM with 4/5 large galleries on Calle Guillem Castro is a 15/17 mins walk, and hard to beat for its shear quality of global exhibits. Free entrance on Sunday to most galleries and museums.

Children are well catered for in the city with numerous great play areas in the 9km jardins del Turia/Viveros see www.culturia.org for some of Valencia's best attractions accessed within 6 mins. The Turia gardens meander peacefully through to Valencia's most impressive City of Arts and Science and the Palau's del Musica and Artistes (opera house). The Viveros is just 5 mins away with its enchanting terraced cafes/bars. Recently opened is the 6 acre Biopark (rumoured to be Europes largest) with over 1000 species of animals in a natural setting accessed easily in 20 mins by metro or a pleasant stroll allow 45 mins..

"Excellent location & friendly locals"
Location of this apartment is excellent. Apartment was clean and comfortable. Some rooms a little small but main living space was large enough.
I'm really pleased that you found my apartment clean and comfortable and enjoyed all the benefits of its great location for enjoying the best of this delightful city. My apartment was in fact fully modernized some six years ago from a three bedroom apartment to two bedrooms which opened up much more living space (double the original size), than is usual for a modern 70's central apartment - interestingly it was quite the 'norm' forty years ago to cram in as many bedrooms for the larger families of the times needs.

"wonderful city with great transport,fabulous sight seeing and days out as well as a beautiful beach."
This apartment was lovely, so relaxing to have extra space to move around and not be 'under each others feet' (as we usually are in a hotel room). My ten yr old loved the british cartoons and disney channel while we loved the privacy of our own bedroom. He said the best part was having his own room and a freezer (the freezer allowed him to have an icecream on the short walk to the tram each day!)
Everything in the apartment worked (- unlike the four star hotel we used last yr). Everthing was clean when we arrived (- again unlike the hotel). The 'neighbours' where all Spanish and very nice when we met outside the lift etc. They were also much quieter in a morning so I had a 'lie in' every day - (unheard of for me usually as I am a light sleeper).
The air con was only used once when we arrived and we all needed to get used to the 30 degree heat (- it was late September and we had just left Englands rain and cold winds! ) After this we left all the windows open all day and all night and this was far better. Being six floors up has the advantage of being very safe re: security.
All in all a great holiday and one we will consider again -we usually go all inclusive in a hotel but this was much more relaxing for all of us, no breakfast time to get up for, no evening meal to get ready for .
Thanks for your kind recommendations - everything is so easy to access from my apartment either by short walks or the cheap easy & efficient modern metro service - to enjoy a lively city centre location and be down at the lovely beach within 15mins. There are not many city's offering such a great combination.

Thanks for your recommendations. It is indeed quite minimalist but as you kindly mention with all the essentials covered. Thus facilitating easier storage etc without any unnecessary clutter - easier to keep clean too! - thus I include the 'final clean' within the tariff rates - despite being a rather generously proportioned apartment, modernity has it benefits...
The location as you mention makes it easy for exploring all the best of the city either by day or night (difficult to lose your bearings getting back!) by foot or metro and with several local terraced civilised bars/cafes along the street helps make for a relaxing and convivial well earned break...

"Comfortable flat, exactly what we were looking for"
We stayed in Valencia for five days in order to see some tourist sights and also attend the Grand Prix. The flat was exactly what we were looking for - under a ten minute walk from the centre, right next to the tram route to take us to the F1 circuit (15 min ride) and was very well equipped to meet our requirements. Would happily recommend it to others - had discussed terms with the owner in advance, was met upon arrival with no problems whatsoever.
Thanks for your kind appraisals - pretty much endorses everything I mention/suggest on the web-page. One recent news update - the bar next door to the entrance of the building has recently been taken over with new management it now offers a great value Asturian menus/tapas 'menu del dia' etc either on the front Palm lined street terrace or within their pleasant bar/authentic taverna dining area - or just pop around for a coffee/beer etc and now take advantage of their Wifi service. Further along the same wide semi-esplanaded Palm lined street there are tradional non-touristy consequently non-tourist priced 'locals' ie; great value; in addition there's a large terraced specialised Valenciano cafe offering extensive range of coffees etc - affable owner likes to put her English to test at any opportunity! - All offer friendliness and excellent value within this central barrio. All owner- managed and like to go the extra mile, with their service etc..

"Insecure flat where we were burgled"
We were burgled and had over £3000 worth of stuff and cash stolen while staying in this apartment. The entrance door to the apartment was not working properly and after being burgled the police … More
The nature of this purported robbery was most unfortunate and very upsetting for both parties; however the locks were changed within two days of the incident and I have never incurred any simarler problems either before or thereafter. It must be mentioned that I advise all prospective guests to ensure they have adequate insurance cover for their belongings - as mentioned on all contracts and terms - as is normal for any apartment rental.
Furthermore I was most disconcerted to note the lack of correlation between both the Police report's 'inventory & values' and the woefully exaggerated accusations later made by my guests, in particular to some of the values of items listed including; '50€ microphones' etc and furthemore the surprisingly large sum of money reportedly stolen - this I coincidently mention with due respects to the previous month's rental delay. I had been asked to wait an extra day to make allowance for their drawing of money from their bank incidently located just opposite the apartment's main entrance -
On speaking to various neighbours some two/three days later; my next door-neighbour mentioned that on at least a couple of occasions during the guests three month discounted winter tenancy that the apartment door had been left ajar and she very thoughtfully had pulled the door shut. On talking to the guests later the same day with full regards to the incident and hopefully ascertain the full facts, neither could entirely recollect whether in fact the heavy-duty security door (equipped with full top & bottom operation bolt-locks) had been key-locked (rather than just being pulled shut) thus ensuring maximum protection of the property.
Accordingly there were some very significant elements of doubt with respects to the full nature of both the claim and the most contentious of allegations made in this very lamentable incident.
