The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Valencia Province region

Valencia is the 3rd largest Spanish city and has everything that any major city has with its subtle charm, hidden delights.
Great country-side combined with superb City beaches which are all very easy and cheap to get to.
Mediterranean climate. Dry and sunny from May to October. Temps. in July and August in the city are about 30 degrees centigrade. It was founded by the Romans as Valentia.
The Visigoths, moors and others have left their mark here and a visit to the archaeological site behind the cathedral is evidence. The city has undergone a rennaiscance over the last few years and hosted the America´s Cup in 2007 and in February 2010. Around the area a must see is the Albufera lake to the south of the city separated from the sea by a dune line, where you can have a boat trip.
The sierra Calderona national park with its peaks is 30 mins. away by car as is the home town of the Borgia family in Gandia. A visit to their palace is a good idea. North into the hills toward Segorbe any number of quaint towns are worth a visit. The Sagunto castle, place of the mythical siege by Hannibal is at 25kms perched on a mountain and is one of the biggest in Europe.
The Valencia / Valencia City Centre area
Ancient holiday villa built in the first third of the 20th century (1933). The building is part of a conjoint of “villas” and buildings with apartments, built along the 500 meters starting from “el Balneario de las Arenas” until the Harbour, by the Valencian bourgeoisie at the time to sunbathe and enjoy the summer period and was conceived as one of the first holiday building complexes for large families in the Spanish littoral and received the surname, “Little Habana”.
Actually subsists a whole of 15 houses conserving the original style and way of life situated in front of the ancient “Balneario”. Between these houses the “Chalet Ribes” stands out as it was designed by the famous architect, Demetrio Ribes, who among other famous buildings also designed the “Estacion del Norte de Valencia” train station.
The rehabilitation of the building has conserved the configuration of the original building with its wide terraces with sea views, ventilated rooms to let the breeze in, traditional tiles, wooden carpentry and at the same time the apartments have been equipped with modern advances, new installations, wifi, cable-TV, air-condition and so on.
Nowadays there are five independent apartments. When you enter, there is a little garden with two tall palm trees as a tranquil transition between the street and the house. In this patio there is a bicycle parking and a shower to clean of the sand from the beach.
In front of the building you will find “Playa de las Arenas” and just behind starts the historical Quarter, “The Cabanyal”.
Ancient quarter of fishermen, it is a whole of buildings in its majority consisting of ground floors and some with first- and/or second floors. The quarter is protected by “BIEN DE INTERES CULTURAL” by the Valencian “Generalitat” in 1993. In this quarter you can find all kind of services.
About 200 meters from the house (at the end of “Avenida del Mediterraneo”!) you will find, “El Mercado del Cabanyal” which is the 2nd largest fresh food market, after “el Mercado central “.
The quarters´ cultural index consists of “Teatro Musical” recently rehabilitated and Puppy Teathre “de la Estrella”. There is also a library “Casa de la Reina” in the street with the same name, Calle de la Reina, and the “museum of “ARROZ” (rice) and the “museum of “LA SEMANA SANTA” (Easter week).
The mythical bodega, “Casa Montaña” is situated in Jose Benlluire as is the “Bar Guillermo” which serves the best “anchoas” of Valencia. In “la Calle de la Reina” you’ll find the restaurant, “El Cabanyal” which is considered one of the best places to have fish and shellfish/seafood in the town.
Just next to the building in the conjoint/whole of houses de las Arenas you have the Italian restaurant, “El Vizio”, the Argentine Restaurant, “La Pampa” and the imaginative restaurant, “La otra Parte”.
Along the sea promenade de Las Arenas is the Hotel Las Arenas with a magnificent spa, and the traditional restaurants in “El Paseo de Neptuno” which serve Valencian food. They all serve paella.
At about 400 meters from the house where the beach ends, The Port of Valencia starts. It has recently been remodelled to house “The Americas Cup 2007” where the darsena was converted into a public park, and is also provided with locals for night leisure such as, “Las Animas” or the terrace “Damm” far enough for not disturbing us but near to go walking. The building “Veles i Vent” designed by David Chipperfield, stands out and also the ancient “Varadero Publico” and the “Tinglados” , ancient modernist warehouses from the end of the 19th century.
10 minutes by car/bicycle or public transport takes you to “Ciudad de las Artes y Las Ciencias” and the “Oceanografico”(the biggest aquarium In Europe) and in 20 minutes you will be in the Historical Centre of Valencia. Here you cannot miss a visit to “La Lonja”, el “Mercado central” and the nightlife in the “Barrio (quarter) del Carmen”.
The apartment is designed as semi-lofts with the kitchen, the living room and the terrace as a wide zone of some 90 square meters. The terraces are equipped with furniture for dining and relaxing.
In the living room you also have space to diner and rest/be and a little working zone with PC and wifi.
