About the home

Perfect for family holidays.Newly painted classic building. Spacious apartment totally refurbished. All new furniture. Bright and cheerful with big windows.Fine sized living-room, modern kitchen, two bedrooms and a cute bathroom with shower cubicle and lots of plants to look after. Traditional terracotta flooring. We´re on the third floor but there´s no lift BUT EASY STAIRS.You have air conditioning and heating.From here you have the city at your fingertips. No buses, no taxis. Use the tram and Metro to get around with a bonometro- a ten-trip ticket for 6,50 euros, ideal for getting to the beach. It´s a quiet 10 minute´s walk to the heart of the city through the imposing 15th century Serranos Towers which were and are Valencia´s northern gate.We offer dinner on arrival (no charge, it´s on us) and you´ll have maps, brochures etc. to help you get around.The fridge will be stocked with the basic things to get started including breakfast for the following days. We can prepare dinners on order for you. Towels included of course. We live next door so can meet you at the tram station or the apartment. After your arrival we will explain all about the city to you so you are ready to get out and about quickly.

Apartment in apartment block. Swimming pool and sports centre two minutes away. Children´s park 5 mins. away. Supermarkets, bakeries and other shops at 5 mins. Plenty of bars and two extremely good restaurants in the area. Tram to airport or beach at 200 metres. Well equipped area but quiet at night and just 5 minutes from the Carmen where the night never ends! Free on street parking. Pay to park is operative on the other side of the river.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Valencia Province region

The climate is Mediterranean. Dry and sunny from May to October. Temps. in July and August in the city are about 30 degrees centigrade. It was founded by the Romans as Valentia and was the retirement place for centurions. The visigoths, moors and others have left their mark here and a visit to the archeological site behind the cathedral is evidence.The city today is the 3rd of Spain and has undergone a rennaiscance over the last few years and hosted the America´s Cup in 2007 and in February 2010. Around the area a must see is the fresh water lake to the south of the city separated from the Med. by only 50 metres of sand and road. Boat trips are possible. Named the Albufera. As owners we provide maps and brochures so that everybody with us is well informed about all the other places of interest. The sierra Calderona national park with its peaks is 30 mins. away by car as is the home town of the Borgia family in Gandia. A visit to their palace is a good idea. North into the hills toward Segorbe any number of quaint towns are worth a visit. The Sagunto castle, place of the mythical siege by Hannibal is at 25kms perched on a mountain and is one of the biggest in Europe.

The Valencia / Valencia City Centre area

The Prince Philip science/arts complex along with aquarium, Europe´s biggest and a planetarium. An ideal alternative to a day at the beach. We have coupons for discounts on entrance charges. The new Bioparc-zoo has just opened its gates. Animals roaming freely without barriers AND ONLY 10 MINS. ON FOOT FROM US.The city has many gardens and parks all with facilities for kids etc. The city centre is easy to walk around. Compact. The cathedral and Michael tower, the biggest food market in Europe, the Guild hall- a superb gothic structure.More than 2500 bars and restaurants at good prices make a visit to the city tempting. It´s safe and laid back. The locals are nice folk. Here you don´t feel crowded in like many traditional resorts. The fiestas here are: Fallas in March with amazing fireworks. The July fair and the TOMATINA in a nearby town where the locals throw 30,000 kilos of ripe tomatoes at each other in the street for one hour in August! Valencia is said to have the best night life in Europe. I think that´s true. Valencia never seems to sleep! For culture vultures 5 top class museums including the ceramic museum which is housed in the most beautiful building in the city- The "Marques de dos Aguas" Then pop into Cafe Madrid just round the corner where Hemingway, Orwell and others spent the civil war- the speciality being Valencian Water -a heady mixture of orange juice vodka and other things! There are 6 major shopping malls littered around the town for people in need of retail therapy.

Fly to Valencia. Taxi is 10 minutes to property. NEW METRO LINE FROM AIRPORT DIRECT TO APARTMENT. JOURNEY TIME 45 MINUTES (LINE 3) and change at BENIMACLET to line 4 west for 3 stops to SAGUNT. From there 2 minutes on foot to us. Very central. No need to take public transport for city centre from apartment.
Cheap flights from Gatwick, Stansted and Bristol with Easyjet and Ryanair. Ryanair also from East Midlands, Bournemouth and Stansted among other airports.
IBERIA/BA have good fares too from Heathrow WITH CHANGE AT MADRID but fares are competitive. Taxi fares about 15euros to apartment.. Metro is 1,70 euros but buy a bonometro AB at the airport and journey works out at 70cts per trip.
For car hire try GOLDCAR. Good service and friendly staff.

“Perfect place to stay in Valencia, bar none. You'll be very happy!” The apartment was everything we hoped it would be. The owner, Graham, gave us directions on how to get to the apartment from the airport using the Metro and told us that he would meet us at the station and lead us to the apartment. He also gave us the address in case we'd rather use a taxi. We chose to take a taxi from the airport to the apartment (only about 20 euros). The owner, Graham, met us at the door on the street before the taxi had even pulled away and led us to our lovely apartment. First off, the apartment was immaculately clean and very inviting. Graham had personally prepared a Spanish tortilla or tortilla de patata (which was delicious) and a green salad. He had also stocked the kitchen and refrigerator with some drinks, breakfast goodies, tea and coffee. He also had several guide books and a map of the city. He sat down with us and showed exactly how to get to all of the places of interest in the city, explained the bus and the Metro system and even recommended some good restaurants. He lives right next door and made it very clear that he was available if we needed anything. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen is stocked with pots, pans and dishes in case you want to cook for yourself. The apartment is a 10 minute walk from the historic center of the city, only a couple of minutes from the Metro and bus stops and is very close to several supermarkets, restaurants/bars and other shops. I have already recommended Graham's apartment to several friends who expressed some keen interest after I told them about my trip. Great apartment and reasonably priced. You'll be glad you picked this one.

“An excellent point - Valencia at your fingertips!” Stayed here for a week with my wife and two kids. Very welcoming owners, provided us with all the necessary info. to start getting around. Welcome dinner was much appreciated. Clean place with all the comodites one would need during a holiday. City centre is just a 10 min walk away and bus (very close to apartment) takes you to most of the interesting places around. The street isn't as welcoming to be honest (however very safe and quiet at all times) but the firendliness of owners and the apartment make up to it. What else can I say. GO FOR IT!

“Hope to come back to Valencia!!” Apartment was ideal and as advertised. It is central and close to all amenities. Bus stops, metro and bus station just a short walk away. Graham and his wife were really helpfull and when we needed some help they gave us all the information needed!! Surely I recommend this apartment to others. I travelled with wife and 2 kids and apartment was comfortable, clean and spacious for us!! Great value for money and hope to come back to Valencia !!!

“great price for this fantastic city; friendly owner, clean appartment, convenient location” The flat is everything the owner describes in the ad and we had a great week in Valencia, seeing and doing everything we had planned to with ease. The owner,Graham, met us at the local metro, showed us the flat and spoke to us about the city, supplying useful information eg. about transport, shops and restaurants. After that, he was available if needed. The true heart of old Valencia is only a ten to fifteen minute stroll away. Buses to either the City of Arts and Sciences or to the Bioparc (Zoo) are a mere five to ten minutes away, as is the metro which can take you to the beach area in approx. half an hour. The flat is in what felt like a perfectly safe residential area so has plenty of food shops, including many an excellent bakery and great greengrocers. Our 4 year old daughter loved her stay - the Spanish clearly love children and she had a great time at the beach (can recommend the Icecream parlour), zoo (expensive but we thought well worth it), and riverbed parks. The art museum (walking distance from the flat) has a very pleasant park with great play equipment for young children.
