The Algarve / Central Algarve region
With more than 300 days of sunshine a year, the Algarve has the best climate in Europe. Our miles of sandy beaches stretch from Faro airport to Vilamoura and yes, it is possible to walk all the way without being cut off by the high tide. Beaches are all protected by life guards and have water sports in summer.
For those with other interests there are championship golf courses nearby (5 minutes by car) tennis (in the development) nature walks, deep sea fishing, and cycles for hire.
The nearby towns of Faro and Loule are rich in culture and interest and there are lots of opportunities to shop and visit markets.
Vale do Lobo area
Zoomarine is a great favourite (approx. 20 minutes by car). Here you can swim with dolphins - amongst other things. Zoomarine is considered one of the top places in Europe to do this. Many water parks nearby.
Local festivals occur primarily during Carnaval time, Easter and summer when each region has a local event - often to honour a Saint - or, for example a Sardine Festival - Seafood festival etc. During summer months there are outdoor concerts and many famous artists now visit this area as part of their European tours.
