The Algarve region
Algarve The Algarve is blessed with superb beaches, unspoilt countryside and countless restaurants for alfresco eating. For the sporting minded there are a wealth of activities such as water sports and sailing, tennis and world renowned golf courses. With more sunshine hours than anywhere else in Europe, clean air and sea and a pleasant variation in the seasons, the Algarve climate bears close resemblance to that of California.
Vale do Lobo / Dunas Douradas area
Ideally situated between Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo, this beach-fronted development has been designed and built to resemble an open plan village at the centre surrounded by larger, more luxurious villas with private swimming pools. The resort is set in over 70 acres of African pine and orange groves which slopes gently down to the ocean. No property is over two storeys high and all are painted in traditional white and have a garden or terrace. On-site facilities are excellent and include a large roman-style pool with separate circular children's pool, a poolside bar for snacks and refreshments, tennis courts, children's play area, superb restaurant 24 hour reception and security patrol. There are popular open-air BBQs in the summertime often with live music. The central pools are supervised during the summer and there are also regularly organised tennis events. The beach, which is within approx. 10 minutes' walking distance offers some of the best beach bars and restaurants. These cater for anything from morning coffee and snacks to a full meal with live music.
