Apartment 11 is a spacious apartment set in the quiet condominium of Jardins do Golfe. It is being completely renovated to a high specification and will be ready for your enjoyment in January 2008. We have thought of you, our guests, in the design: A fitted kitchen with solid oak cabinets, black granite work tops and all new appliances. Even a washing machine for those of you with childen or for those who prefer to travel light.
Both bathrooms have been fitted with new sanitary ware and power shower facilities, full length mirrors and large marble vanity units. New stone floors throughout give the feel of luxury, whilst the sofa, snugs, throws and bean bags provide that homely feel if you wish to stay in and watch a movie on the LCD flat screen TV!!
At approximately 30 square metres, the balcony area is the perfect setting to read a book in the afternoon sun, relax and unwind with a drink in the evening or have a pleasant meal with family and friends. With views toward the beautifully landscaped gardens and pools, the apartment has the advantage of being really safe being situated on the ground floor and is completely secluded.
For guests looking for nothing more than lying out in the sun, Jardins do Golfes boasts its own large private pool. Scattered around the sun terrace and gardens are free sun loungers and, for families, a children's pool and waterfall. In June 2007, a new decking area was introduced around the poolside snack bar, open in the peak Summer months. If you prefer something a little more energetic, there are 2 tennis courts, a practice wall, basketball area and crazy golf course set within the gardens.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region
Portugal’s Algarve region is a haven of sun drenched golden beaches, warm seas, challenging golf courses and narrow streets with dazzling white houses, restaurants and weekly markets. There are modern resorts where purpose built facilities cluster around sparkling marinas and plenty of less developed areas, where sweeping golden beaches and secluded coves take centre stage.
The Algarve has a great road network, which makes touring and sightseeing really easy. A car is not necessary, however, to get the most out of everything the Algarve has to offer, we would recommend it. Car rentals are available from Faro Airport and Parque do Golfe, the golf reception area at Vale do Lobo.
If you enjoy history and culture there are many fine castles, cathedrals, churches, museums and stately homes of architectural interest.
The Algarve has emerged as the best holiday and golfing location in Europe. The 5* resorts of Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago being the finest.
The Algarve offers the best all round climate in Europe. The summer months see high temperatures that attract the beach-goers and sun-lovers. October to April are peak times for golfers and walkers, when the weather is warm. With more hours of sunshine than California, the Algarve has the perfect weather and climate for tourism.
Vale do Lobo / Jardins do Golfe area
Vale Do Lobo For the culinary connoisseurs, there are 15 first class restaurants located throughout Vale Do Lobo, where you can enjoy international cuisine from Asian to French and Italian to Portuguese seafood specialities.
For those in search of excellence, there are 3 michelin star restaurants in the area, however, if you simply can’t be bothered and want to stay in, there are a number of diners and take aways that will deliver to your balcony!! Details can be found in the apartment booklet.
A short 15 minute walk from the apartment is The Praca, the central hub of Vale Do Lobo. Here is the Blue Flag beach front, which is absolutely breath taking. An outdoor swimming pool overlooking the sea and the Penguin’s Children’s Club. The children’s club has superb facilities, however, there is a cost for the facility. There is live entertainment each evening around the bars and cafes and the night club of The Praca. It is wonderfully relaxing.....keep your eyes open for the odd celebrity!!
A further 10 minute stroll, located on the beach in Vale do Garrao is Julia’s- a famous collection of restaurants and beach bars- providing you with a perfect blend of location, cuisine and friendly staff. Here you can enjoy major sporting events on the flat screen TV and wireless internet zone for your lap top, whilst enjoying stunning views of the Atlantic.
Quinta do Lago Exclusive Quinta do Lago is a 5 minute drive from the apartment. Great golf courses including San Lorenzo, arguably the best in Portugal, designer shops and super restaurants set around the square. For something a bit special, we would recommend Gigis on the coast (you will need to book) and Casa do Lago overlooking two lakes in the Ria Formosa Natural Park.
Vilamoura Vilamoura, its fine harbour and array of restaurants and night life, is a short 15 minutes taxi drive away. Set on the marina, the nightlife here is lively, cosmopolitan and varied with bars, cafes, clubs and restaurants. Most are set around the marina, however there are some great bars set behind it. If you fancy a live band and a late drink, try the Irish Bar!!
How to get there
Faro airport is easily accessible. There are plenty of cheap flights from all local and international airports. To find the best price with ease, try using www.skyscanners.co.uk which compares the prices of all the airlines.
The apartment is only 20 minutes away from the airport and will cost around 20 euros for a taxi.
We like to hire a car so that we can travel around and explore everything that the Algarve has to offer. However, this is not an essential. Again there are lots of comparison websites for car hire companies. We tend to use www.travelsupermarket.com (Baby/child seats are available for hire). Europcar and Sixt are reliable, offer value for money and are well located at the exit of the airport. They provide maps free of charge and will help you locate Vale do Lobo. The apartment is really easy to find, however, if you're like me and get lost on the way to work, simply remember to head toward Almancil as Vale do Lobo is well sign posted from there. We will provide full instructions for you following your booking.

We understand the hassle and expense of taking golf clubs and the promise of not playing when you are away with the family. However, when you see the quality of the golf courses and you meet new friends by the pool... you will be dying to play!! Which is why we have stored 2 sets of quality golf clubs for your use free of charge in the apartment. They are Ping Zing irons and putters, with R7 400cc drivers.(Simply take your own shoes, balls and you're off). I would recommend looking in our golf portfolio before you book and take advantage of the contacts we have out on Portugal.

Don’t book straight at the golf course, you will pay the full rate. As golf addicts ourselves, we can recommend courses and there are 3 and 5 day passes for different courses in the area. We are ideally placed to serve over 15 championship courses within a 20 minute drive. Links, parkland, pine forests, lake land courses we have it all…this is golfers paradise!!
At the apartment we have compiled our own comprehensive golf guide. Get ahead of the competition by reading all the information and tips from the pros!! There are lots of photographs, all the score cards and shot savers for all of the courses. We have played all 15 of the local championship courses and can ensure you get to play the ones that suit your budget and handicap.
Tennis Play to your hearts content on the 2 courts and practice court at the apartment. If you’re after something more competitive or game improvement, The Vale do Lobo Tennis Academy, home of the ATP Champions Tour, is only 1km away. Facilities include: 10 hard courts, 4 synthetic grass courts, 1 paddle court, pro shop, swimming pool, fitness gym, sauna, steam and massage room and tennis café overlooking the courts. There are a range of coaching programmes and tournaments to suit your requirements and standard. All information can be provided before your trip, although details are in the apartment brochure.
The welcoming reception area at Jardins Do Golfes is at hand to meet all your needs- phone for taxis, book restaurants or simply offer some friendly advice.
Within the apartment we have put together a folder containing details of local attractions, most of which offer a pick up service. There is also a bus stop that runs from outside the supermarket to all the local attractions such as: Horse riding Fishing Yachting/sailing 4x4 safari tours Aqua Park Swim with the dolphins Theme Park Markets Cultural visits- chuches Organised walks for different ages and staminas!!

A 2 minute walk from the apartment is the supermarket, off licence, medical centre and cash point. The supermarket is well stocked and ideal for purchasing freshly baked bread in the morning and restocking the fridge with chilled drinks for the early evening. About a 7 minute walk from the apartment is Parque Do Golfe, the reception for the Royal and Ocean Golf Courses. Here you can buy and read the newspaper whilst having a drink at the cafe or bar overlooking the opening holes and the grandstand of the 18th. If pampering is more your style, there is a beauty centre, hairdresser and health spa.
