About the home

This classically furnished villa is located in the heart of the Vale do Lobo development. Vale do Lobo is close to the beach, has its own golf courses, tennis courts and Leisure Club and is approximately 20 minutes’ drive from Faro Airport. This villa is spacious and will comfortably sleep up to 10 people.

This excellent family villa has been designed to maximise natural light and the flow of the living space allows versatility and comfort. The villa is fully fitted throughout with air conditioning, which guests may make use of for a supplemental charge.

The property is spacious without being imposing. The property is reached up a calçada driveway and the double front doors open into a hallway with a few steps up into the main living area on the first floor.

The lounge with corner fireplace opens on two sides through sliding doors to the large wrap around terrace area overlooking the gardens. This main living space incorporates a generous dining area with an extending table to seat up to 10 persons, the feature curved wall of windows bring the outside in and overlook the pool area.

A breakfast bar opens this entertainment area into the fully equipped kitchen with separate utility area with its own sink. The finishing is of a high standard and includes microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble drier, dishwasher and integrated wine rack. Popular with many families is the small TV room/snug that overlooks the back of the house with satellite TV and comfy sofas. There is a cloakroom also on this floor.

Sleeping accommodation is set on two levels. On the first floor the master suite takes prominence at the front of the house. There is a separate dressing area with fitted wardrobes within which is a safety deposit box. The en suite bathroom has a large walk in shower, as well as a corner Jacuzzi bath.

The bedroom itself has sliding doors on two fronts, one of which opens onto a private West facing roof terrace. The other 4 bedrooms are on the ground floor along a corridor, the full length of which is fitted with wardrobes. All bedrooms have twin beds, mirrored fitted wardrobes and sliding doors to access their own individual terrace area and gardens. There is a bathroom for each pair of bedrooms to share, one has a bath with a shower and the other has a shower cubicle.

Further details outdoors:
Due to the fabulous weather most time is spent outside lounging by the pool or enjoying an alfresco meal. The 11m x 6 m (unheated) swimming pool is south facing with an attached heated Jacuzzi that can comfortably fit 10 people and for convenience there is also an outside shower.

Garden furniture including sun beds, table and chairs as well as comfortable seating are positioned to allow full enjoyment of the weather with plenty for everyone. There is both a portable gas BBQ and a large slate fixed BBQ and to facilitate alfresco dining there is also a bar/sink area, close to the back door that opens to the utility room/kitchen.

The gardens are well maintained with a combination of lawn, trees and terraced flowerbeds, lit up at night by the lights along the driveway. There is more than ample parking in addition to the garage and the car port at the front of the house.

Guests are requested to refrain from smoking inside the house. Barrington’s Membership also entitles guests to use the facilities on site which include gym, outdoor and indoor pool, squash courts, sauna and Turkish bath.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The Algarve has become a magnet for many holiday visitors. Huge numbers of visitors become bewitched by the area's charm and beauty and consequently buy a property there! Some retire to the Algarve, others seek to start a new life away from the hustle and strain of a colder climate and a harsher working environment. Still others buy as an investment to rent out as a holiday accommodation and the majority of the villas and apartments rented by Select Resorts in this region are privately owned.

The Algarvean temperament adds much to the relaxed social atmosphere of the region. The local people are generally courteous and their natural hospitality and acceptance of foreign tourists lead to a cosmopolitan cultural ethos within the Portuguese society. Much to the relief of European visitors, many Portuguese people have an excellent command of English, particularly those working in the tourist industry. However, they appreciate it if visitors make an effort to converse in Portuguese.

SURROUNDING AREA:
Albufeira is often overlooked by tourists and Old Albufeira is actually a very pretty town. Its Moorish influence is easy to see in Minaret-inspired chimney pots and whitewashed buildings. It claims to have the largest sandy beach in the whole of the Algarve and the waters are particularly clean and unpolluted. The Portuguese love their fish and in Albufeira all fish is caught locally. We especially recommend the restaurants in this fishing town.

Almancil offers a very varied picture. This town has become an important centre for providing support services to feed the needs of two nearby stylish well established holiday and rental developments: Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo. The town has many shops, banks, post office etc. and some of the finest restaurants in the Algarve are located within the area.

Faro, the capital of the Algarve, was a sleepy provincial town twenty years ago but now has all the facilities of a modern European town with an attractive shopping area. The gateway to the Algarve can be deceptive from the outskirts. However the centre radiates from the old walled town with its delightful square and orange trees, church, museum and several excellent restaurants.

Loule is situated 18 km (11m) north east of Faro. The weekly Saturday morning market is famous amongst the locals and holidaymakers. The market has an excellent selection of fruit and vegetables, along with fresh fish every day. You will often see artisans working brass, copper or clay in and about the streets of Loule - craft is still very active in this area.

Olaho is very like a north African town because the houses and the church are built in the shape of white cubes, sometimes two or three storeys high. Olaho's style owes very little to the influence of Moorish culture and is the result of modern trading links between its merchants and those of the North African coasts. Similar buildings can be found in Tunisia and Libya. The most attractive area of the city is the old part, although surrounded by more recent buildings. Fishing is still popular in Olaho but nothing like as important as in the past.

The Vale do Lobo area

Situated in the heart of the Algarve, Vale do Lobo, Dunas Douradas and their surrounding areas are connected by beautiful, sandy beaches. A good choice of accommodation can be found in these areas to suit all tastes and budgets. There is a good choice of bars and restaurants nearby along with tennis courts, shops, golf courses and Barringtons Health Centre.
