Does this sound like somewhere you would like to holiday!

Gela-mar has been totally renovated with all new open plan kitchen and dining room with informal sunken lounge room. All furnishings, curtains and bedding are new. The bathrooms are completely renovated to be walk in wet rooms with fixtures to a modern high standard.

The villa is suitable for up to 8 people. There are three master bedrooms and an additional interconnecting double (sofabed) bedroom / games entertainment room which is also can be used as a second sitting room with TV, DVD player and Playstation games console.

Outdoors there is a built in BBQ, Portuguese style tiled dining table with benches also a sink and fridge (so your beer and wine can stay nice and cold poolside), the south facing pool is kidney shaped with easy steps to enter the water. There are two roof terraces – perfect for al fresco dining in the evening and also grabbing those last rays of sunshine at the end of the day. If you look through the palm trees you can even see the ocean too !

Dunas Douradas is an upmarket, luxury development, situated by the beach between Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago and lies in some 76 acres of African pine trees. It is a safe, family-friendly resort with a Roman communal pool and a children’s pool. There is a pool-bar serving all-day food and a reception area which is open 24 hours a day, where the friendly staff will help you with anything from booking tours and discount golf to recommending one of the many excellent restaurants in the area. There are two tennis courts with a resident pro for lessons for all ages. The resort is guarded by 24hr security.

Notes on accommodation
The villas are prepared for your arrival and included is one mid-stay maid service for 2 hours. All your linen and towels are included. Additional maid service is available, please enquire. Villa is suitable for up to 8 people - 6 adults and 2 children.

Accessibility
Suitable for the mobility impaired. The villa is suitable for small children, there are a couple of stairs from the kitchen/dining room to the lounge room. The pool area is not fenced and you will be responsible for supervising your children in the pool. The roof top terrace will require you to supervise young children, but we have installed a gate that closes off the upstairs terrace - children can only access upstairs if you open the gate.

Outside
Terraced, heated pool surrounded by well tended gardens with mature plants & trees, 3 outdoor tables and chairs, bbq, sink and fridge. Calcada driveway with 3 private car spaces.

Coast/Beach
Ancao beach is a easy 5 minute stroll through the resort. It is a safe, clean, 'blue flag' beach for families. Cafes, bars, restaurants, shops and toilet facilities are available at the beach too. There are sunloungers are for hire. Read more about beaches and the local area.

Golf
Golfing weekends can be arranged. There are many courses within a short distance including: Laranjal, Vale do Lobo Royal, Vale do Lobo Ocean, Quinta da Lago Norte, Quinta do Lago Sul, Vila Sol, Vilamoura Old Course, Vilamoura Millennium, Vilamoura Pinhal, Vilamoura Laguna, Salgados, Benamor, Quinta Da Ria, Quinta de Cima.

Travel
We recommend that you hire a car to make the most of the fantastic facilities in the area. If you are a bit unsure of driving from the airport we can arrange a personal meet and greet service from/to the airport in a registered private car and also supply baby/car chairs for the children. Then you can have your hire car delivered to the villa at your convenience.

Distances
In Almancil (5 minutes drive) has Apolonia Supermarket (excellent continental selection of foods and wine) they accept all major credit cards and next door is Aldi (cash only or Portuguese registered multi banco cards). In Faro (15 minutes drive) there is a large shopping centre with Jumbo and Pingo Doce supermarkets. Just up the hill in Loule there are several supermarkets including Continente, Modelo, Pingu Doce and Lidl.

Sightseeing
Most tours offer a pickup/dropoff bus service from Dunas Douradas/Vale Do Lobo to the attractions. The Algarve offers many excellent attractions from adrenalin packed adventure to more leisurely pursuits. You name it – we have it!

There are many attractions within a short distance from the villa, including 20 kilometres of glorious sandy beaches. Towns include – Faro, Vilamoura, Quarteria, Guia and recommended are day trips to the nearby islands of Tavira, Isla Deserta, Armona and Culatra. There are several waterparks in the Algarve, the closest is Aquashow which is about a 10 minute drive. Within the area there is an excellent selection of watersports, tours and activities including horse riding. In the villa is a well stocked folder with all the details of the attractions so you can read at leisure and book your choices.

Conditions

Booking notes
A securing deposit must be paid on time of booking this is 50% of the total booking cost. The balance is to be paid 8 weeks before arrival. A security deposit of £300 (low season) / £500 (high season) is payable before arrival. The security deposit will be refunded in full within 14 days after departure if the property has been left in an appropriate condition. Sorry but this property is not available for groups of young adults.

Cancellation refunds:
Up to 8 weeks - no loss except administration charge.
4-8 weeks - 50% of rate refunded.
2-4 weeks - 25% of rate refunded.
Less than 2 weeks - no refund.

The Algarve / Central Algarve region

The area between Quinta do Lago, Almancil and Vale do Lobo is referred to as the 'Golden Triangle'.
Vale do Lobo is a very popular holiday destination for families and couples alike and definitely great fun for celebrity spotting. Vale do Lobo is world famous and the famous like to be seen there - you never know who you will be dining beside each night - enjoying the free live nightly entertainment in the Praca, Vale do Lobo.

In Vale do Lobo and Quinta Do Lago there are numerous facilities - restaurants, cafes, bars, nightclub, spa, pools, gymnasiums, golf, mini golf, tennis, supermarket, newsagent, shops, bank, car rental, wine shop, cash machines, numerous water sports, hairdresser and beauty salons. Everything is available so you never have to leave the resort!

The resorts are lush settings amongst tropical plants and numerous flat-top pine trees. The beaches of the Golden Triangle stretch for several kilometres so you can always find the perfect spot to enjoy the 300 days of sunshine that the Algarve has every year.

It is not necessary to have a car but I would recommend car hire in winter to give you the flexibility to explore the Algarve. We can provide information about car hire companies.

Alternatively we can arrange a personal meet and greet service from/to the airport in a private car with child car seats provided for free. Choose from standard saloon, people carrier and mini bus transfers. Please email us for details.

A public taxi from the airport costs approximately €30 to Dunas Douradas. Note: Public taxi's do not provide child seats.

Changeover days are flexible but during the summer months it is more likely to be on a weekday. It is necessary to vacant the villa by 10am on the day of departure in the high season.

Access to the villa is after 3pm on day of arrival unless previous arrangements have been made.

Low Season Rental

If you rent only 1,2 or 3 bedrooms the remaining bedrooms will be locked. You are still renting the entire villa but not all the bedrooms/bathrooms. The nightly rate is low season is based on 2 adults sharing 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom.

1 bedroom - £550; 2 bedrooms - £650; 3 bedrooms - £700; 4 bedrooms - £800

Booking Notes

For low and mid season rentals securing deposit must be paid on time of booking this is 50% of the total booking cost.

For high and peak season rentals the deposit required is 25%.

All deposits are non refundable.

All rentals - the balance is to be paid 8 weeks before arrival. A security deposit of £300 (£500 in high season) is payable before arrival. The security deposit will be refunded in full within 14 days after departure if the property has been left in an appropriate condition.

The quoted rates includes maid service with change of sheets & towels after 7 nights. All bed linen, bath and beach towels are provided.
