Faro (FAO) Airport: Approximate driving time is 30 minutes and distance is 20 km (12.5 miles).
Driving directions from Faro Airport: Follow signs to Hwy N 125 and go west in the direction of Portimão. Proceed for approximately 4 km (2.5 miles) to signs pointing to Portimão and Loulé. Turn toward Portimão and proceed for approximately 3 km (1.75 mile) to signs for Almancil. Turn toward Almancil and proceed into town. Follow signs pointing to Vale do Garrão and Vale do Lobo until the road ends. Turn right. Turn left at first road on the corner of Pinetrees Riding Centre, drive on for another 2 km, and park your car on the left side of the road opposite nr. 93/2.
Getting there: Rental cars are available online. Taxis and vans for up to eight passengers are available at the airport.
Vale do Garrao area
Vale do Garrão is set between the Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago estates, just a few minutes walk from the Algarve's most renowned beaches It is also an enviable location for any golfer as several of the Algarve's famous golf courses are to be found within a 3 km radius.
How to get there
I would recommend Europcar or Autojardim. You can rent a car through the Internet and pick it up from Faro Airport which is 20 km away. Leave the airport and drive for approximately 3 km until you see signs for Faro and Portimão. Turn right towards Portimão. This will bring you to the main coast road - EN 125. Continue for approximately 4 km until you see signs for Loulé and Portimão. Turn right towards Portimão and continue straight ahead for approximately 3 km. You will see a sign for São Lourenço followed by a sign for Almancil on your right. Turn right following the sign to Almancil. Drive for a further 2 to 3 km until you reach Almancil. When you get to Almancil, you will see signs for Vale do Garrão and Vale do Lobo. Turn left at the second set of traffic lights. After approximately 500 m you will come to a fork in the road and will see signs for Vale do Garrão and Vale do Lobo. Take the right fork and carry on for approximately 4 km until you come to a junction with Quinta do Lago sign posted to the left and Vale do Garrão and Vale do Lobo to the right. Turn right and take the first left turn on the corner of the “Pinetrees” Riding Centre. Carry on for 2 km until you see our villa on your right. Park the car across the road on the left.
