Elegant Summer Villa
About the home
The house is made up of two parts, one which was designed as a modern space in a traditional, Provence-style shell (a Bastide structure), and a modern extension. Attached to the house is a large pergola and stone walls typical of the Mediterranean region. Situated above the village of Valbonne which is less than 500 metres away and easily accessible on foot, the villa is surrounded by large, mature oak trees, pine trees and greenery.
The property measures 1 500 square metres and is on a slight grade with the parking area, house, pool and garden, all at different levels separated by stone walls. To the East, we look toward the Mediterranean (which we see through greenery). It is 10 km away, or 15 minutes by car. To the North, a glimpse of the hills of Gourdon.

Further details indoors:
The interior is bright, open and modern with high ceilings, light marble floors and white walls. Large windows on the South and East sides flood the space with light. The living area on the ground floor includes a modern, fully-equipped kitchen (the large island seats 6) and pantry, a dining room, open living room and two-piece washroom.
All rooms have multiple doors and passages for a very open flow of space. The doors are tilt & turn full glass panels for maximum light. In the entrance hall the ceiling opens to the next floor where there is an extensive library of French and English works in the upstairs hallway.
Further details outdoors:
The terrace, running the entire length and width of the house, measures 80 square metres. It is in part shaded by a large pergola with a teak table that extends to seat 8-10 people - most meals are taken outdoors. The terrace, which overlooks the pool, is surrounded by palms, oleander bushes and a variety of Mediterranean plants such as rosemary, lavender and wisteria.
The terrace overlooks the pool area. The pool measures 11 x 5 metres and is surrounded by a large patio paved with Indian sandstone - there are also teak benches and sun beds. The pool area is fenced off to prevent access by young children (but adult supervision of the pool is required at all times!). To further entertain adults and children, the property has a large 3.7 metre diametre trampoline as well as a boule pitch.

All included are: end-of stay cleaning, housekeeping once per week, gardener and pool maintenance, and linen and towels.

BookThe Provence Alpes Cote d'Azur / Alpes-Maritimes region
The Cote d'Azur in the South of France is one of the sunniest, warmest and most sought-after regions in Europe. There are many interesting towns and villages, all reached by lovely scenic drives. Visit Grasse, the perfume capitol of France, where you can tour the museum and bottle your own perfume. Cannes, Nice, La Napoule and Juan les Pins are worth a visit as well.
The Valbonne area
The first record of Valbonne dates back to 1200 as the Monasterium Vallisbone was established. Today, it is a busy and active town, with a large Anglophone population. The village of Valbonne was mostly designed in the 16th century, in an unusual grid pattern following the layout of Roman cities. In the centre of the village is the lovely Place des Arcades. The central square is surrounded on all four sides by picturesque arcades, cafe terraces and little shops.
