About the home

.Ideal for both winter and summer holidays. The flat is within easy reach of all skiing and the centre of town. There is a free bus 3 minutes walk away which takes you to the three main lifts for the whole area, ie Solaise/Bellevarde, Le Fornet and La Daille, which you will reach within 10 minutes. The flat is ideal for 2 families, or 3 couples plus 2, with plenty of space for comfortable living unlike many apartments in France which tend to be cramped. It is on the second floor and there is a lift.
Val d'Isere is in the vast Espace Killy area offering wonderful skiing & snow boarding for all standards from complete beginners to serious off piste experts. Val offers plenty of apres-ski with a wide & varied range of bars & restaurants
In summer there are beautiful walks through stunning scenery and a full range of mountain activities within easy reach i.e. mountain biking, white water rafting, canyoning, adventure programmes for youngsters, go-karting and guided activities in the huge Vanoise National Park. It is a wonderful place just to relax and do nothing too!

The Rhone / French Alps / Savoie region

Val d'Isere is in the Haute Savoi region of the French Alps and is one of the premier ski resorts in Europe. The village of Val d'Isere is at 1,850m above sea level so good snow is almost guaranteed throughout the skiing season. Val d'Isere and Tignes are linked and the highest lift is 3,456m
Val D'Isere has a long history as a high farming area and although it is a major tourist resort the old town and church remain and the pretty hamlet of le Fornet has many original houses remaining.

In winter, skiing and snow-boarding are the main activities, but there is plenty to do for non-skiers e.g. visiting the many bars & restaurants, shopping or walking along the pedestrian tracks. There is a large outdoor skating rink and a magnificent new sports hall and swimming pool. There is a cinema and concerts are held in the church most weeks.
There is skiing & snow boarding for all levels of ability.

Fly to Geneve, Lyon or Chambery. All approx. 2 1/2 hours drive away. There is a coach from Geneva which takes about 4 hours. Eurostar to Bourg st Maurice which is 40min bus journey away.
Travel by car. Ferry from Dover to Calais or Eurotunnell. The drive from Calais to Val d'Isere takes 8-9hours.
