About this location
The Provence region
Provence is a region of south eastern France and therefore it has a Mediterranean climate which is characterised by hot and dry summers, and mild winters. There is plenty of sunshine all year round.
The landscape is beautiful and the area is famous for attracting many artists, including famous painters and authors. It is a pleasure to enjoy the views while listening to the relaxing chirp of crickets.
The property is located on the 2013 route of the Tour de France (stage 15). The area is a popular area for cycling enthusiasts.
Vaison-la-Romaine is a Roman town and therefore many Roman excavation sites are accessible to the public. The town is on a rocky cliff and the typical Provençal houses give the town a very medieval look. There is a very wide selection of shops. Local supermarkets include Intermarche, Super U, Lidl and Aldi.
Mirabel-aux-Baronnies is a small village and is also perched on a hill: the scenery around is simply breathtaking.
From June to September, there is an antiques market every two weeks on Sunday and bargains can be had. The 15th August, which is a bank holiday in France, is the Fete du Vin (Wine Festival).
Mirabel has a tourist office, a post office, a pharmacy and an excellent boulangerie as well as a small green grocer for your daily needs. The local "Bar des Amis" serves a very good lunch.
At Nyons town, there is a wide selection of restaurants on Rue des Deportees. The town is famous for olive production and oils, which can be purchased at the local co--operative, together with wine 'en vrac'. The weekly market on Thursday mornings (8am-12.30pm) attracts visitors from a wide area. There are several excellent boulangeries and the local supermarket is Intermarche.

"Wonderful, relaxed, and fun"
We stayed here in 2010 when the property had relatively recently been taken over by its current owners, and we knew they had plans to update and renew various aspects. But we loved it as it was!Like an… More
Thank you for your feedback which we really appreciated, particularly about the comfortable feel to the house and the relaxing setting. We knew we had some room for improvement and that's what we've now done.
In 2011, we replaced all of our kitchen units and worktops and we fitted new floor tiles. We also added an electric hob alongside the gas one. Those tricky security shutters were replaced too!
Then we called in the builders and installed a new swimming pool, including the latest technology in water filtration; new stone paving completed the work. And finally to improve pool safety, we also installed a key-operated retractable cover for when adults are not around. We look forward to welcoming you!
