About this location

The Istria region

Let's play golf

The Adriatic golf club, located at Crveni Vrh close to Savudrija and near the Borghetto Villas. According to many golfers, the wavy course and almost idyllic landscape provide the golf club Adriatic course with real charm and challenge.

Golf Adriatic course was opened in 2009. This is the first professional course with 18 holes 6360 meters long, deployed on 80 acres. Those with less sport ambitions have at their disposal a shorter course of 4690 meters.

The course is planned according to the PAR 72 standard region and designed by the famous Austrian architecture duo - Diethard Fahrenleitner and Barbara Eisserer. Their effort has been recognized and for this very first project in Croatia they won the “Golf Art Landscape” award.

Whilst designing this course, they really paid attention to fit it perfectly in the natural surroundings making a real small natural park.

The field is not easy at all, neither for professionals nor for amateur players. The average time necessary to pass it is four hours. This area is one of the windiest areas in Istria therefore the player must overcome another challenge – the wind.

The wind can play a significant role, along with strategically placed bunkers and skillfully crafted greens.

Biking and MTB

Biker's passion consists of number of different pleasures, one of them being the unique sense of closeness to the countryside one is riding through. And from the biker's perspective surroundings look like a series of idyllic landscape sketches that take the observer's breath away from the observer, enchanting him with loveliness, colors and diversity. On both biking trails you'll be riding by olive groves, vineyards, trough cultivated park-forests, undisturbed lush Mediterranean vegetation whose seet smell fills your nostrils and your lungs. And te shoreline is never far: it is usually hard to say where the green descends into blue. But when the trail takes you from the sea, that's when the adventure starts - the inland has preserved the charm and beauty of a chy Cinderella.

Just wait to se the cave Baredine! The nature that was obviously acting in our favor granted us generously. Following the trail of former Parenzana railway you will be passing trough a part of Istra that for decades was inaccessible even to the hikers. Passing some 50 kilometers you won't feel dizzy out of exhaustion but out of impressions. Biker's trails in Porec surroundings abond not only in outstanding natural beauties but also in traces of passed times perpetuated in cultural monuments. You don't have to enter none of the numberless churches on your way - just a glance is enough to enjoy them all built as sculptures in the landscape.

Medieval towns, all protected cultural monuments, stand on hill tops as if they were some kind of strange hill caps, and each one of them will fascinate you with its special charm. Do not miss the view on the remains of Dvigrad, destroyed amazing twin city. You won't suffer neither hunger nor thirst on your trail. There are lots of taverns, inns and restaurants that will take care of it. There's at least one such place in each bigger village and in all of them an exquisite home-made food and wine will be offered to you. But be modest since it's not hard to overdo when so much good is offered.

Walking and Nordic walking

What is the easiest, the most effective and the cheapest way to combine healthy recreation and relaxation with a sightseeing tour of a region? The answer is walking. Walking is the most natural way of human motion. Today in a flood of slow moving and monotonous jobs on one side and stressful commotion on the other side walking one of the best ways to help your body physically and psychologically. When you combine a healthy environment the pleasures of nature and the cultural historical beauties make the experience complete and the effect maximal. The Porec shore is well known for its rich and diverse tourist offers and to the lovers of walking offers many pleasures. It doesn't mean necessarily that it should be summer spring, fall and even winter should be taken into consideration more because of the mild Mediterranean climate. There's an infinite number of walking trails and paths in Istria, a peninsula where Porec is situated in its western part. In this brochure we have selected only several if itineraries mainly leading along the shores of Poreština starting off at tourist cities and resorts, making them available to tourists directly from their hotels, apartments or camps at which they have stayed. The paths are suitable for all ages and physical conditions because they fall into the category of the less demanding for the most part the differences in heights are not more than 10 m, the exception are the paths 5 and 6 which are 60 and 109 m high but without a steep climb. Most of the described paths or trails follow well cared for paved paths that have lighting, resting places and offer various catering and recreational places along the way. There are also paths for lovers of untouched nature and beautiful panoramas as well as for those who want to get to know the thousands of years old and rich history of civilizations of Porec and its region. A little bit of time, good foot-ware and good will is the only best thing that you will need for this pleasure.
