The Tuscany region

A beautiful spot in Tuscany with the town located along the river. The views everywhere are of mountains and lush green trees. There are numerous walks, either strolling along the river, walking into town where there are plenty of places to eat and shop or for the more adventurous walks through olive groves and up mountains. The food is delicious everywhere you go, you can get a coffee locally for just over a euro, and a gelato for around the same, all the gelato is home made and it is simply delicious.

There is trotter racing nearby, a brilliant night out for a few euros or free for ladies. The local trattoria's are the best, offering a Pranzo di Lavoro for around 11 euros, this includes a first and second course, half a carafe of wine and a coffee. All family owned restaurants with their own special way of doing things.

You can catch the bus further into the surrounding hills for a tiny cost (pennies) where you can enjoy even more beautiful scenery and some fantastic restaurants at very reasonable prices for home cooked Tuscan food. The beach at Viareggio is just stunning with a backdrop view of the mountains.

Lucca is an absolute must, the walled City is an amazing place to stroll around or hire a bike and cycle round the wall. In the summer there are many festivals to go and see, all great value. Florence takes an hour on the train and only costs 5 euros each way. The architecture is stunning and we can recommend a lovely walk around the City. Pisa has the leaning tower, which really does have to be seen to be believed and then of course there is the beach at Viareggio, sea in front of you and the mountains behind you. Warm sea water and sunshine.

The area is full of natural beauty and plenty of things to do. The lush green hillsides just take your breath away with a view down the valley of the mountains and blue skies. There is a local river with a swim hole and a backdrop view of the waterfall and mountains.

There are numerous stunning walks that we can recommend, either a nice circular stroll along the river or for the more adventurous you can walk up the mountainside and see some of the most beautiful scenery in the world.

Tuscany also has the highest suspension bridge, which is an amazing engineering feat and an amazing little restaurant close by to fortify yourselves after your adventure.

The towns of Tuscany are beautiful, with a view of building literally that look like they are tumbling down the mountainside and always a lovely café or restaurant close by.

Swim in the local river, with a beautiful waterfall as your backdrop. Simply stunning and only a 10 minute walk from our Olive Farm.

"Loss of time & peaceful and relaxing - Great hospitality!"

Apsolutly fantastic place. AMAZING views, beautiful walks, great locals and THE BEST GELATO EVER!!!!!! Chris, Sue and the boys showed great hospitality without imposing. I loved the daily food we recieved and our morning chats. An hour away from both Pisa and Florence both easily accessible by train and it's cheap, approx 45min walk to station. Would highly recommend switching all time of (I.e watches and phones) and let the bell chimes tell you what time it one rushes for anything. AMAZING EVERTHING!
