Villa Poppy is a privately owned luxury detached villa with a screened private pool. Large Sun terraces surround the pool of which some areas are shaded, plenty of sunbeds and parasols - an excellent area to sit and relax. There is also a portable BBQ and outside shower. the outside dining area is a quiet, tranquil place to sit and dine al fresco and overlook the plateau below watch the stunning sunsets and views of the surrounding mountains.
Villa Poppy offers a spacious and fully equipped games room, with a pool table, table football, table tennis etc, a selection of games, playstation (games supplied) to make your holiday even more enjoyable. Beautifully furnished throughout to a very high standard with local hand made furniture.
Villa Poppy has marble flooring on 2 floors and air conditioning and standing fans throughout. Patio doors lead from the lounge and dining room to a covered terrace which provides extra shade during the day and is lit up at night, the perfect place to relax and dine al fresco on our wrought iron furniture. This overlooks the pool and valley where you have stunning views.
Villa Poppy has six bedrooms, three shower rooms (each with shower cubicles), one bathroom (with overhead shower attachment). There are two king size bedrooms and a single bedroom on the 1st floor, two twin bedded rooms and a single bedroom with cot if required on the second floor.
One of the king size bedrooms is en-suite with a shower room.
There is a spacious open plan lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen, plus the benefit of a separate sitting room with satelite TV and DVD player (a large selection of DVDs are provided for you to enjoy) and the room is an ideal place in which to sit, relax and chill.
There is a Child security gate on top floor and smoke alarms fitted on all floors.
Wrought iron and Security locks on all windows and doors to offer enhanced security.

Villa Poppy has 6 bedrooms, 2 king size, 2 twins, 2 singles a cot and a high chair. Child gate on top floor to provide more safety. Three bedrooms have access to balconies where you can sit and watch the fabulous sunsets. En suite shower room to master bedroom, family bathroom with corner bath which has a side seat and shower, plus 2 other shower rooms (with shower cubicles). Very comfortable lounge with log fireplace CD player, separate lounge area with sateliteTelevision showing english programmes and sport. DVD player and large selection of DVDs. There is also a selection of CDs and books plus an IPOD docking station.
The Dining room seats 8 but outside table seats 10. Fully fitted kitchen with all mod cons plus washing machine, dishwasher and large fridge freezer, ample crockery and cooking utensils provided.
There are smoke alarms on every floor and a fitted safe. Plus wrought iron and security locks on all windows and doors.
All bedrooms are furnished with everything you need just to move in and unpack!

The large sun terrace surrounding the pool is well equipped with sun loungers, side tables and parasols.
The main pool is 8 by 4 metres with steps at the shallow end and a ladder at the deep end. The shallow end is 1.4m and 1.8m at the deep end. Pool and terraces are enclosed so not only are they private but provide safety for everyone.

We can arrange airport transfers for you, either by car or minibus depending on number of people.
Transfers are arranged through our sister company Guide Tours who are a registered TURSAB member and are fully insured.
We provide a welcome pack with essentials on your arrival for you. We also offer the option of a full shop ideal for your arrival - no worries about food and drink! - please ask for details.
All linen and towels are provided in the villa, we also provide pool towels for your use.
For a 2 week stay you will have a bed linen and towel change mid way but not a full clean. A Full clean is available at an extra cost - please enquire when booking
If you do not fancy hiring a car and driving yourselves we can arrange a mini bus or car, with your own driver, to take you where ever you want to visit, no need to rush, just spend as much time as you want at the local beauty spots. We can also arrange minibus hire/car hire for you either for collection at the airport or delivered to the villa.
Also we can arrange any trips and excursions for you with return transfers from the villa (a small charge will be made for the transfers.) Trips and Excursions are provided through our sister company Guide Tours. These can be booked prior to arrival or whilst in Turkey and you will receive discount on all trips. Book two or more trips prior to arrival and receive the Olu Deniz Boat trip for half price - A great day out. For details please just ask.

All guests must have adequate travel insurance.
A 25% deposit is required on booking, which is non refundable, the balance is due 6 weeks prior to the holiday.
A £300 breakage deposit is required when balance is due, to be refunded within 2 weeks of your departure
(subject to satisfactory property inspection).
Minor breakages such as a glass or plate etc can be replaced locally, if you would leave a few lira to cover the cost that will be appreciated.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia region
This stretch of the Turkish coastline is known as the Turkish Riviera or Turquoise Coast. The area around Fethiye is one of Turkeys most beautiful, offering a perfect mix of beach resorts, mountain scenery and small rural villages.
The famous Olu Deniz beach with its stunning blue lagoon is renowned as the most beautiful beach in Turkey, The lagoon is like a large lake, very calm, ideal for children with is gently shelving waters. The Turquoise Coast is without doubt one of the most beautiful areas in which to relax and unwind. From the backdrop of the Taurus mountains the coast is full of beautiful beaches, crystal clear turquoise seas, stunning scenery and numerous places of interest and ancient sites full of history and culture.
The area has something for everyone, the thrills of white water rafting, paragliding off babadag mountain, ringo riding down the stunning saklikent gorge or why not visit the Dalyan mud baths, for those who enjoy historical sights why not visit the historical sites of Ephesus and Pamukkale, or the nearby ancient ruins of Kadyanda (20 mins from the villa). For the less adventurous and those which wish to relax why not take a boat trip out of Fethiye or Olu Deniz, sit back, relax and have lunch cooked for you.
The choices are endless and you will wish to come back time after time.
The Uzumlu area
The village of yesil Uzumlu is a small traditional Turkish village located 18kms from the bustling town of Fethiye. The village itself is surronded by a fantastic backdrop of mountains. Villa Poppy is situated in an elevated position, surrounded by pine forests, with exceptional views over the valley and set with a backdrop against the mountains. As Uzumlu is 500m above sea level you will enjoy the cool mountain breezes which are more than welcome especially in the summer.
The traditional village of Uzumlu is approx a 25 minute walk away (approx 2 km) and it has managed to retain all of the natural charm and character of a traditional Turkish village whilst having the convenience of a modern town of Fethiye which is a twenty minutes drive away. The villa is currently situated up an unmade road.
Within the village you will be able to experience real Turkish village life and the atmosphere is where you can experience the real Turkey quiet and unspoilt and is ideal for those looking for a little peace and quiet, breathtaking scenery and rural life. The village of Uzumlu has small supermarkets in which to buy your essential groceries, several restaurants, a bakery in which to buy fresh bread every day, a barbers, post office and a local market on Fridays in order to buy local produce.
From the mosque in the village square you can catch a dolmus (Turkish taxi) which will take you into Fethiye. Fethiye is an all year round working town and is a mixture of market town, port and holiday resort. On the hill above Fethiye is a castle built for the Knights of Saint John and there are 2 simple rock tombs on the eastern face of the hill. Every Tuesday there is a huge open air market near the marina selling everything from clothes, shoes, household goods, gifts and food. Great to practice your bartering skills! The harbour and marina is bordered by palm tree lined promenades and back streets filled with shops, bars and restaurants, yielding bargains, gastronomic delights and bustling night life. The town is lined with shops galore as well as a maze of little side streets offering many hidden treasures. At night there are a good selection of bars, cafes and restaurants offering local and international cuisine. You will also find discos and cinemas in Fethiye town centre.
For a much livelier resort you can visit Hisaronu with its wide choice of shops, restaurants and late night bars, they also have a market every Monday. Near to Hisaronu is the deserted village of Kayakoy which was a Greek settlement founded at the beginning of the 14th century. It was evacuated during the Turkish-Greek war of 1919-1923 hence it's nickname of The Ghost Town. Its well worth a visit and the more energetic of you can walk there through the pine forests.
The world renown resort of Olu Deniz 'the blue lagoon' with its sheltered beach and lagoon which is ideal for children and swimming, is a short distance away from Fethiye. Here you can wander around the shops, sit and have a drink in one of the many seafront cafes and watch the paragliders land on the beach.
Calis beach is a 20 minute drive from the villa and is famous for its stunning sunsets, cooling breezes and beautiful long beach of single and sand which stretches across the bay to Fethiye. The seafront and area around Calis is flat and therefore suitable for strolling along the promenade deciding which of the many restaurants or bars in which to sit and watch the world go by.

Karen and Pete were amazing any problems dealt with immediately even though Karen was on crutches. The villa had everything we could have wanted for a large party like ours and the games room was well used by us. The pool cleaned daily by Pete before we had even got out of bed can't fault it. If there is anything negative to say it would have to be the unmade roads from the main road up to the villa... shame!!! The local village and its people are very friendly and you even get a lift back to the villa by some of the shop owners with your shopping....All in all great holiday if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle. Fabulous villa with a great view from the terrace. The accommodation is beautifully presented with amazing attention to the small details. The bedrooms are all of a good size and very comfortable. The pool is fabulous with a great terrace area and plenty of shade. The added bonus is the well equipment games room, which has something for all ages. Great location on the outskirts of this Turkish village, which has excellent places to eat. Karen and Peter looked after us brilliantly and nothing was too much trouble. We will be back.... To be honest, the villa was absolutely beautiful. It really has just about everything that you need. the kids loved the fact they had a games room and that is a major asset. The pictures of the villa do not do it justice. Because there were so many of us I was worried we would be a bit cramped but the villa is lovely and spacious and we did not have any problems of that sort. We had a lovely holiday. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful villa and making it so enjoyable.

Everything was organised so well for us from start to finish. The games room is an added bonus. Would recommend the boat trip and Dalyan Mud Baths are a must! cant wait to go back.

We spent 4 weeks at Villa Poppy this year and it was excellent. Karen and Pete made us very welcome and sorted out all our trips and any queries. The villa is well equipped for a large family of all ages, plenty of shaded areas for the kids and sun for others. Having a TV room and a games room meant there was always a cool room for people to take a break from the sun. This was our second holiday at Villa Poppy and we have already booked for next year. Great value for money.

The villa surpassed all of our expectations. The pictures just dont do it justice! We could not believe that the rooms just went on and on. We were a large party of 10. We all felt that we had enough room and never got on top of one another. The rooms were comfortable. The TV room was great, as was the games room. The pool was fantastic, there were plenty of beds and chairs for everyone and enough space around the pool to not feel cramped. The situation was lovely with great views. The village of Uzumlu is lovely. We will definitely be recommending the villa to friends and family and we will hopefully visit again soon.

During our first visit in Turkey, we spent a week at the Villa Poppy situated in Yesiluzumlu - a small quaint village in close vicinity to Fethiye. The conditions at the Villa were simply perfect: clean, furnished with love and taste and pragmatic in its design, ready to accommodate one or two large families. The game room is very functional for both young and older children, while the swimming pool was enjoyed every day by our whole group of 9 people. We ate our meals on the outside terrace where the view of the mountains are breathtaking. I would come back to the Villa for a longer stay in a heart beat!
Our hosts, Karen and Pete, were very accommodating and always with a smile gave us very useful tips and advices that made our stay most enjoyable and care-free. The only word of caution: one week is definitely not sufficient to explore the surrounding regions which encompass both gorgeous mountain hikes or beautiful lagoons and beaches

Firstly, thank you both for helping us have a fabulous holiday.
The villa exceeded our expectations. The furniture is beautiful and comfortable. All of us thought the pool was magnificent, and we spent many hours dipping in and out to keep cool. The children (and adults) played lots of table tennis and pool.
The TV room is a bonus, with so many great films to choose from. We really enjoyed watching a film in the late evening after a day in the sun.
Thanks for helping to organise the paragliding, and getting a good price. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience, with photos to remember the whole day.
We would definitely want to come back again!

What can I say, we had a fantastic time.
The villa was great, the pool was perfect, the people & restaurants were friendly & we didn't want to leave! Thank you for all your help, particularly a better route to drive to the villa (down is definitely better than up!)
We did our own trip to Tlos, Yakkapark & Saklikent Gorge & would thoroughly recommend it. It was easy to find our way & we could choose how much time we spent. The river rafting is great fun & it is worth having the mudbath at the end.
Patara beach was lovely & not crowded if you went past the restaurant area, but the sand is very hot!
We did an afternoon boat trip which gave us plenty of time to get there by dolmus without having to get up too early! It was a really good day & James particularly enjoyed the ringo rides available at the last stop.
We used both Cadianda & Alya restaurants in the village, Cadianda collected us & dropped us off more than once & Ali(?) at Alya also offered to take us back or even drive our car back & get collected if we preferred. Can thouroughly recommend the lamb or chicken casserole that is cooked in clay pots at Alya. We had one of each between 5 & still couldn't finish them.
We spoke to a few people whilst we were there about how great the villa was & gave them the website info & have also passed the details to friends here. I just hope there will be room for us next time! We will definitely be back.

Villa Poppy was better than we hoped for, it was well furnished and spacious with lovely views from the dining terrace. The games room with the pool table, table-tennis and table football was an added bonus. The swimming pool was a good size and the wide steps in the shallow end were ideal for the non-swimmer amonst us. Karen & Pete were extremely helpful without being intrusive and were always very quick at responding to our questions and providing us with information - the mobile phone for villa guests was very handy and an excellent idea. The hire car that Karen arranged for us was just right, and even the very large Turkish nail that found itself in one of our tyres was sorted out quickly and efficiently! The large supermarket (Kipa), selling everything we needed was a 25 minute drive away, on the outskirts of Fethiye. Some of the places we visited included the Travertines at Pamukkale (went via back roads on the way and the main roads to return, 3hr 15min drive each way), well worth a visit

We have just had a 10 night stay at Villa Poppy and have had a wonderful time. It is in a fantastic place, with beautiful views from the terrace. The Villa has everything and more that you could possibly need from a fully equipped kitchen to towels for around the pool, to a games room to keep everyone entertained. Karen and Pete are there if you need them which is very reassuring. They are a wealth of knowledge about the area and things to do. Uzmulu is a very relaxed place to be and the Villa is close by to the village which has restaurants etc. We are already looking at booking again next year

We had the most relaxing 2 weeks holiday we could have wished for. This being our third visit to Turkey and being aware that some places can be quite noisy, that's why we chose this type of location in a typical Turkish village surrounded by wonderful views of the mountains. The villa was beautiful with fantastic amenities for every age group (our group ranging from 2 to 80). The pool was a blessing on the long hot days and the games room came in very handy to keep us all entertained in the evenings. Not forgetting the small creatures that frequently visited us, which the children named as, Eddy the lizard, Toby the tortoise and Larry the dragonfly to name a few. We will definitely be coming back in the near future, it was our little piece of heaven.
